OK, everyone, the time to nominate posters for the original ESB Rankings Committee is upon us. Here's the deal: 1) Each poster on ESB may recommend two posters for the committee, and posters are not allowed to nominate themselves. 2) Only posters with at least 1,000 posts and who have been registered on the site for three months are eligible to join the committee -- but all posters are encouraged to nominate. 3) One nomination thread is posted on the General Forum, and one is located on the Classic Forum. We'll be taking 18 from the GF and 6 from the CF. You may nominate on only one of the two threads. 4) This thread is being posted on September 17, and it will stay open stay open through September 27. When the clock strikes Midnight at UTC-12 -- that's 8:00am on the 28th for those on the United States East Coast -- voting will close. 5) Those posters with the most nominations will be invited to join the committee, and those who accept will comprise the voters for the first round of voting, to be conducted on October 7. At that time, the ESB population as a whole -- provided they meet the 1,000-post/3-month qualifications -- are eligible to apply for admission. 6) Enjoy! (P.S. A couple of posters have mentioned nominating me and I appreciate that, but I think it would be best for integrity purposes for me to sit out for now. Beyond that, I just don't think I'll have time to compile decent rankings while trying to work out the inevitable kinks in the system.)
I'd like to nominate Odo. He's a Euro nuthugger, yes, but he probably knows the Eastern Euro fighters better than just about anyone on this site. I'll edit this later to add another nomination. You just HAD to set the limit at 1,000, didn't ya? :verysad Edit - nominees: Odo Guru Too You
I think I was unclear about that. Everyone is welcome to nominate, just those with 1,000 posts actually can join the committee. I've edited the original post so it's easier to understand. Two good nominations, by the way.
If you scroll down a ways, you'll see the latest edition of the rules. I think it has a lot of potential, if we all value having our own rankings and strive to make them work. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16480&page=4
To help with European representation, I'm nominating Axe and tobkhan. Though this isn't my official vote, I also hope that kg0208 will find his way onto the committee. His judgments are on the mark, and his assistance with all this has been invaluable.
Just make sure your commitee doesn't place Bernard Hopkins anywhere near the top 5 P4P. And make sure they actually know the true definition of P4P (ability rather than resume).
