Could have been out of respect, or he was worried that Byrd would be the wiley veteran that he... used to be... or he wanted to make sure he broke him down... can't be sure.
Sad, really really sad. Nothing worse than watching a once mighty fighter just not have it anymore. George still looked like ****, he should of had him out in 2 rounds. Chris seperated his shoulder when he fell, can't believe he continued after that, Chris Byrd has heart. Watch when he went down, and THEN kept fighting. Hope he hangs them up for good, wish he would of ducked out of Wlad beat him up, I knew it was over then. George will get beat by any of the top guys. Too lazy.
I feel bad for Byrd....very sad The man trained hard...he can still beat alot of Heavyweights....but he should retire.
George is a talented light-heavyweight/cruiserweight prospect. He has two losses, but they were against very good cruiserweights (Matt Godfey being one of them). Some people were hyping him up and predicted he would win.
Aint no need 2 rush and get countered. George was smart, PATIENT, and effective. Byrd was game and still putting up a fight. Patience was trul a virtue:good
Now that Byrd is out of the Lt. Heavyweight equation, what's next for Dawson, Calslappy, Tarver and RJ?
