***Official Groves v Degale Build-up Thread*** Who's getting KTFO?

Spot on. For me, okay he's a ***** pre and post fight but DG is one of the best UK prospects we've had. IMO.

Looking at both over the last two years, DG has too much for him.

Groves did come across better in the clip though. Which isn't hard tbh.

 

na groves is winning it psychologically so far ,best degales got is ugly kid and stinky breath ,i mean childish ****.is degale the thickest fighter around at the moment.he soon backed down when groves accepted his bet.

 

When this fight gets closer, and Frank starts to see Degale nervous and on edge, will he let his golden egg fight?

Wouldn't surprise me if this doesn't go ahead.

 

except that you don't know how much groves amateur win over him has affected de gale. would imagine that for all his cockiness/confidence there's still a little voice that says to him every so often 'but he DID beat you didn't he.....?'
how about this for a scenario - we've got another 8 weeks of this - groves keeps up his coolness under fire.de gale tries everything to get under his skin but fails a) de gale is wound up and HE lets the red mist descend and b) that little voice starts saying him 'christ now groves has not only beaten you in the amateurs, now he's beaten you in the mind games'.....
here's another scenario - de gale keeps up the trash talk, groves keeps winning over the neutrals (as he's already doing on here), come the night de gale has 10-15,000 people booing him and cheering on 'gentleman george'. how's he going to feel then, given that he didn't like a couple of hundred people justifiably booing him ,imho, on his b'ham debut?

i agree that the build up can affect the fighters to different extents. but the problem for me is that groves keeping his left hand down and negating his defence is a stronger factor than any mind games. hes just got to stop doing that for him to win this fight.

 

C'mon, go easy on him. We were all noobs once, and many of us still are.

You'll scare him into the open arms of the General.

 

Hope Kenny Anderson fights the winner of of one of these 2 or atleast gets in the mox

 

i can easily see that happening to be honest. just think there is a chance that de gale will be affected adversely if groves can win the mind games and if that happens then it might be even more interesting than we already hoping

I just noticed Hopkins wears glasses, do many boxers wear them? Seems random but I thought bad eyesight would obviously stop them developing

I was thinking the same, surely he doesn't wear contacts when hes fighting so he's even better than i thought.

 

I thought about contacts and then thought he wouldn't be able to wear them because they would obviously be pushed against his eyes. This could cut them up or something

 

i'm excited. its a big match and i hope it sells well.

with emotions entering the foray, i think the fight could even up now. anything could happen and degale seems emotionally invested. degale was saying things that would irk me and i'd turn around and hit him, especially if im being mugged off on air, but groves didn't really let himself slip. he was mature and even called out the old vet in nelson on his words.
