Haye was offered the chance to fight fat Sam Peter when he held the WBC belt. He would have beat Sam easy but gave b/s about wanting to face the best out there (the klits). Now he is fighting someone who is nothing but a circus act.

Bad move from the Haye camp, if they wanted a belt they could have lined up the Peter fight. Haye would be a title holder and would have earned a bit more cash. Appears to me as if Team Haye knew if they beat Peter they would have to face Vitali (which Haye would lose). So they have had all this media spin and what has Haye done for the last few months? Bollocks all.

This is great news as far as i'm concerned, it's a perfect opportunity for Haye to test himself against a very tall and competant HW who's not as dangerous as Vitali.

If Haye wins he's beaten Vitali's preferred opponent and done what Chageav,Ruiz and Holyfield couldn't.That will put him in a much stronger bargaining postiion.

****ing hell!! The general has gone mental. Haye is a bum, he's a *****. He bitched out of two fights with the Klits.

The Klit-ites are rooting for Valuev in this fight :huh. Surely it would be better for them if Haye beats Valuev and thus make any potential Klit win over Haye more legacy enhancing?

Yep, it makes sense for all sorts of reasons. I just like the idea of this heavyweight saga developing between Haye and the Klitshckoz. If Haye can establish himself as a HW then I think thats better for everyone long term, especially the fans.

But then, I'd like to hear some more details about why the negotiations with K2 broke down, 'cause maybe Haye did just ***** out, who knows..

It seems David Haye has finally tipped the General Forum into a complete state of meltdown .....I don't think it can recover from this....... :-(

It seems Haye is now the most despicable creature known to man....they are all positively disgusted with him....how dare he do this to us?

Its just funny that a he has no heart, skill, chin blah blah blah but the haters on the forum never shut up about him, why do they care so much about a fighter who can supposedly offer nothing to the HW scene....the whining and the bitching is unreal :|

If you visit Bscene there are a few quotes from Sauerland and Valuev.

David Haye is a ***** for not fighting the Klitschkos.

Had he fought the Klitschkos then he's a joke who did not earn that shot and should have worked his way up by fighting other guys.

“We had been negotiating for three months over the Vitali fight but we did the deal for Valuev in a matter of days,” said Haye, in an exclusive interview with the South London Press.

“It puts me in the position where I’m free to fight again in the UK
and that was a big thing for me to make sure I could defend my world title over here.

“There are a lot of reasons why the Klitschko fight didn’t work out and it was never signed, we were just in negotiations. They felt I had no other alternative so they tried to screw me down and put some near impossible clauses in."

i think that haye made a rod for his own back with all the early hype and mouthing off.the klitschko's were bound to be a pain in the arse when it came to negotiating a one-sided contract,it's a kind of retribution.i'm sure that haye has got the valuev fight so he can still be his own man,and rightly so.

haye is part of the new school of self managed/promoted fighters,he creates his own hype ,and lets not forget it was solely him and booth who created the situation and muscled in on a title shot in the first place.

i'm a massive haye fan,but must still reserve from judging him at heavyweight,,how can he be judged by such limited heavyweight experience?.it's what makes it all so exciting,he seems to be causing waves on either side of the atlantic, which hasn't happened for a long time.
