Was rooting for Hopkins till I saw him palm Winky's face and shove him. Who knows maybe it was staged. Just hoping for some excitment, but Winky in a close decision.
I say Winky with a 12 round split decision. I'll also say that if both Winky and B-Hop bring the fight like they did against Taylor and Tarver last summer, it will be a candidate for fight of the year. I wasn't much of a fan of Winky until he started to make the fight, and I think this could be a really great match. It could also put people to sleep.
Alright, my official pick for the record? Hopkins SD, 115-113, 113-115, 115-113. But if I sack up and decide to put some change on this at the last second, it'll just be a tiny play on the 12-1 draw odds. If Hops is as smart as he usually is, he trained with Freddy on keeping up a decent punch output and countering effectively in close quarters. But I can't reconcile what his strategy should be with the facts on the ground; he's 42 and he hasn't had to set any kind of pace in a championship level bout since schooling Tito six years ago.
