Both guys are 2 of the 3 top PPV attractions in the sport.

I think this fight can do 2 million buys.

#1 PPV attraction vs #3 PPV attraction.

Good story with Floyd moving up in weight 5 years after he moved up to fight Oscar!

    Thoughts!

How many PPV buys will this do in your opinion?

PPV #'s for Floyd, since fighting Oscar

    De La Hoya-Mayweather 2,400,000

    Hatton Mayweather- 920,000

    Marquez-Mayweather 1,005,000

    Mosley-Mayweather 1,400,000

    Ortiz-Mayweather 1,300,000

The only PPV #'s I know for Cotto are the first Cotto-Margarito fight which did 425,000 or more I believe.

Anyone have anything on PPV numbers for Cotto.

How many buys will this fight do? Please vote.:good

    wait to see the undercard.

I'm sure Canelo will be fighting and probably Jessie Vargas again.

I think it will do at least 1.5 million at the lowest.

Depends on the undercard, it'll be bigger than Mayweather v Ortiz

I think it does well, because Cotto is the anti-villain, P Rican (country behind him), a big draw (600k against Marg according to lying bollox), primetime date Cinco de Mayo and the racial element

I'd say 1.2 worst case to 1.8 best case but would say around 1.5-1.6

Fellaz-Casual fans make up the majority of the buys-Not people like us, who watch the undercards...

Any numbers on Cotto's past PPV's? He did 1.2 million with Pac I believe..could be wrong.

You got Ortiz wrong. It was 1.15 but generated more cash then Mosley because it was really pricey.
According to Arum Cotto - Margarito 2 was a huge success so i am going with 1.4 to 1.6 with a good under card.

Casual fans don't watch undercard buddiez!!!! They usually don't even know who is on the undercard-

I had over 100 people at my house for De La Hoya-Mayweather and most of em could not tell u a single fighter on the undercard.

I question if Canelo will be on the card. Floyd/Cotto would sell as a stand alone fight. If it's Canelo/Mosley that would be it's own HBO headliner imo and not a ppv undercard, even tho Mosley is done.

I'm thinking 1.5-1.8. Doesn't matter who Floyd fights on May 5th the date and his name have been advertized to hell already anyway because of the Pacquiao debacle. Cotto is super popular, though. Ortiz did something like 1.3, right? So naturally this one has to do at least a little bit more.

Good point. If Mosley is the opponent, then that won't be on the undercard. IDK who'd be on there then. I'll think about it later

I think so because Mosley could never draw being the A side, he needed DLH, Mayweather, Vargas, Pacman to go PPV. He couldn't sell a PPV without a triple A side, Cotto can
