Hearns just got beat by Sturm and having another shot for the title( he didnt even deserve the Sturm fight)....sad. Meanwhile Rubio is very upset.
I don't mind this fight and it could be semi-entertaining. Considering Chavez won his title in June and is going to defend it against Manfredo, on HBO, in November than defending his belt in Mexico in between isn't a bad idea. Hearns doesn't deserve a title shot but Martinez is the champ and any other title fight is just a fight to me, one where a belt just happens to be involved.
Ronald's father is my favorite fighter, but I think Ronald needs a few tuneups before getting in there with Chavez.
Hearns jr aint even a high B caliber fighter lol, he's proven that! Manfredo aint any better. He was a decent gatekeeper at the peak of his career... that's already past. When will JCC jr have an A-caliber fighter against him?
Pathetic fight. Nobody will give Dmitry Pirog another HBO date, but we'll get this **** crammed down our throats. That's what's wrong with boxing.
whats annoying to me is that JCC jr is marketed as the greatest thing since slice bread (well, the greatest thing since his father), yet he's no way near the caliber his father was.... and if he is SO GREAT, why does he keep avoiding the best talent of a weightclass? Middleweight is a good weightclass to hide in.... there's only a couple fighters he should answer to, but can be skated around
