Hell.... Wilder is just a hybrid of Grant and Derrick Jefferson. Look at how well he's doing today!

****ing idiot has the worst mop I've ever said on a prizefighter...... Shannon Briggs included. Looks like an extra in a really low grade Shaw brothers flick.

As for Grant, people who met him say he's one of that truly good and kind persons. Nice guy. Probably too nice to be a pro boxer.

Unfortunately, he never had boxing skills to compete at the top-level and it was evident as early as in Jeff Wooden fight. That was extremely competitive fight which could've gone either way and Grant took too many shots against Wooden who wasn't a world beater. Strange that HBO hyped him to beat Lennox.

Wooden also had a competitive bout with Tua, I believe. It's funny how such an obscure talent like Wooden was able to compete on near even terms with two of the most hyped heavyweight talents of the past 25 years. Maskaev managed to find Jeff's chin early, I have that bout on my channel I think.

I love the way Spoon chopped down Gonzalez on the ropes. Those uppercuts and overhand rights..vicious stuff.

Terrible Tim was a monster in there... his finishing ability was clinical and brutal. He was a show stopper for sure.

Speaking of Mesi, how many of our General forum members have been following the sport long enough to remember when he was a hot and up and coming prospect fighting the likes of the kill or be killed DaVaryl Williamson and leftovers from the previous generation like Gonzalez.

Funny how a cruiserweight was his personal "wall" that he couldn't break through, even though you'd imagine, on paper, Mesi would have more than enough for a bloated up cruiserweight. Jirov was a bad, bad man.

The last Italian-American HW worth a damn. Best since have been high level journeymen like Mollo, Grano and Maddalone a tier or so below them.

Oh man, I'd personally say Vinny is a tier below Mollo & Grano, none the less Mesi...

Barret also had a lot to do with ending Mesi. He just wasn’t very good. Slimming down to cruiser might’ve worked better for him.

No worst than Wilder or AJ. The 90's and early 2000's were stacked.
