I'm a fan of AA and have to pick him, because Pavlik's offensive style is tailor-made for him. I say KO in round 8 or 9. IF Pav can go all 12 rounds he will win, but I doubt that. AA is a monster puncher and would definitely be the hardest challenge Pav has taken so far. The same is true for AA, but he has the better chin, a very solid defense and an iron will. Pav wears his opponents down slowly, AA can execute his with a single punch.
Pavlik knows how to work a shell defence. AA WILL pay a heavy price for laying on the ropes and in the corner and being inactive. Pavlik has the reach/height advantage and knows how to use it. He won't be lulled into a mistake like Miranda and Ayala were. AA seems to need this moment and plans on it. Pavlik's reach advantage allows him to stay out of AA's wheelhouse while executing his own plan. I don't think this one is even close.
I am REALLY undecided about this. Abraham has the tools to beat Pavlik, but if he doesn't get a KO, I don't see how he can outpoint Pavlik just by countering him... Pavlik's work rate is insane.
I find it hard to pick against Kelly Pavlik at this point in time. This is a fight I would love to see. Abraham is a very worthy and dangerous opponent.
Well said. I agree, except that I would apply this statement to Kelly Pavlik. It'll be close and entertaining in any case. :thumbsup
