JDJ and Jonathan Banks were both in contact with the opposition leading up to their biggest fight.

 

Anatoly can help him develop a style that goes 12 rounds with no major problems, but it's too late in Sergey's career to develop an Ukrainian boxing school style.
I don't really see Kovalev improving but I could be wrong here.

John David Jackson is a treacherous individual. By his own admission, he named a price to jump ship. Kovalev should seek out the services of Freddie Roach, Robert Garcia, or Anatoly Lomachenko... in that order.

JD was a snake whose heart wasn't with Kovalev but rather with his american compatriot Andre Ward. I noticed how friendly he was with Virgil during the build up to the fight even though Hunter only had disparaging remarks about his fighter. I wouldn't be surprised if gave their team intel on their gameplan.

 

Yeah I and many others noticed that too. Along with subtle little comments Jackson made in interviews ESPECIALLY after the rematch. Glad Sergey got rid of them! It was a long time coming! Maybe Sergey has finally seen the light after that rematch

Language and culture is always a barrier.

Great move jackson was flotsam anyway. In an old interview he said he was manic depressive and told Kovalev to not speak with him at times but try later that day when he might feel more like talking. WTF? Who needs an alcoholic manic depressive trainer who is unavailable until it is time to cut the check of course.

No wonder Kovalev never listened to the guy and I bet jackson throws him under the bus with some school girl B.S.!

I have no clue who Kovalev will work with, nobody seems like an even decent fit except Anatoly Lomachenko but he basically only focuses on his son. Kovalev hates uncle Abel and Roach cannot hold the pads for him and has health considerations.
