Decorated champion vs. new challenger. Global icon vs. ambitious hopeful. Hunger vs. confidence. That's the storyline. However, after seeing the weigh-in today and with Algieri needing two attempts to make the 144-lb catchweight limit after being over by 0.2 lbs, what are your thoughts, picks, and predictions?

    Vote and comment!!!

Pacquiao has no Chin and Algeri has no power. Coincidence? Nope.

Pointless and awful fight. Will not watch.

    -Pacquiao wins 118-110

-Algieri will be back where he was 9 months ago, on ESPN2, this time next year.

-Vargas, Lomachenko, and Shiming all score comfortable decision victories.

I got Pac by a tougher than expected UD styles make fights. I'm more excited for Gonzalez fight this week and Crawford-Beltran for the Lineal LW Title next weekend

that's not what I meant.everyone thought the same about ruslan calling him an espn level fighter when he moved up to fight bradley ruslan has shown that's not the case he is still here fighting on hbo.why would algieri go back to espn when he's clearly better than that.

Ruslan just lost to an ESPN2 fighter who was a massive underdog, showing that his "fan friendly style" is why he is still on HBO and not his actual merit as a skilled or accomplished boxer because he is neither of those things... at least not to the degree that many folks seem to think he is. Everything is relative.

I think if Pacquiao feints and punches with angles it will stop Algieri getting into a rhythm with his jab.

I think Algieri is going to get frustrated and struggle to put up a high enough outpoint to beat Pac.

I see a Pacquaio UD with maybe one knockdown of Algieri on the way.

ruslan's ability to give every fighter hell win or lose is why he's on hbo that means he must be good.he's not a technical boxer so what there's more then one way to skin a cat.not every fighter is going to be willie pep.both ruslan and algieri fought on espn they have gone beyond that level now but you got to start somewhere.

I do get what you're saying and agree to some extent, even a large extent with how you have respectfully worded it.

But all things being relative, we are talking about the elite of boxing in facing Pacquiao on a PPV... in which case calling Algieri an ESPN2 fighter who will be shown to be just that as part of my prediction is also justifiable. He will be guaranteed another fight on HBO just for being a Pac opponent even if he gets KO'd in twenty seconds of round one. But after that, he won't get a free ride. And I won't go ahead and say I believe in him enough to win either of his next two fights (Pac + whoever HBO matches him with probably next Spring/Summer) to keep him from going back to smaller shows in New York and, thus, ESPN2.
