HBO is legally obligated as a publicly traded company to release any and all profits. They aren't obligated to release how many "units" sold, but I really didn't think I had to elaborate to this extent.... You can see how many units or PPV buys the event generated if you take the total profit for the event and divide it by the total cost for the fight. Sure they can cook books and manipulate profits but the government doesn't look kindly on those who do.

HBO is not a publicly traded company. HBO is a division of Time Warner, a publicly traded company. Time Warner reports on the earnings of its divisions. The vast majority of the money generated by these PPVs does not go to the network. I sincerely doubt that you can find any earnings reports or income statements that regularly, if ever, discuss specific event earnings.

Then tell me when they've specifically inflated their numbers. Which PPV? And no, the Top Rank links I provided aren't typical inflating of the numbers. Oscar and Schaefer always mouth off about ridiculous predictions/projections before the PPV, but as far as I'm aware, have never subsequently blown up the numbers that actually get released to the public after the fight. Arum meanwhile fed everyone a ridiculous total after ashow occurred (nearly 1 million over the final total) and then proceeded to threaten anyone who didn't accept his declarations as facts.
