I agree with that. The fight was there for him and he didn't take advantage of it.

Credit to Cotto for stepping up in the last 2 rounds.

Fight was closer than the scores indicated. Cotto was unlucky to get cut early by the headbutt though. Clottey as expected, is not a pressure fighter, and did not have the required consistency that someone like Margarito had.

Cotto stuck it out and it is hard to judge the situation because of the unfortunate cut, but i wasn't overly impressed with his performance. There were a couple of rounds where it looked as though he didn't learn anything from the Margarito fight, and instead of earning Clottey's respect, he got on his bicycle, when it wasn't necessary.

I don't care that he had one eye, he never hurt Clottey aside from the 6th round, period. He tried to counter in between shots but always missed, while Clottey jabbed the hell out of him, repeatedly caught him with 1,2s, and hammered him with multiple uppercuts and lead rights. Period.

Rematch, Clottey probably wins, if the fight is in Vegas with good judges.

Close fight. I had no problem with the decision going to Cotto. Clottey's got himself to blame for doing so little in the last 3 rounds.

If the Mosley who turned up against Margo is in the building, Cotto will be ripped apart if he fights like he did tonight!

First of all, anyone calling Clottey a ***** is ******ed.

But I will say that Clottey seems to be one of those guys destined to be near but never at the top. He somehow undoes himself, content with a contentious decision. Cotto has the mind of a champ -- he expects to win.

Why did Clottey become so inactive in the final two rounds? Understandably he was tired, but so was Cotto and he was more active (and arguably more hurt). Say what you want about Marg and the wraps, he knew enough to keep attacking when he smelled blood in the water. Clottey had Cotto hurt on several occasions and did not capitalize as he should have.

I had Clottey on a very close decision, but I can't argue with the decision.

Agreed. Clottey is kidding himself if he thought could win posing in front of Cotto on his own timetable like the minutes and rounds weren't clicking away. Clottey needs a shovel shot of reality to his thick head. He can go back to nowhere as far as the people picking him are likely concerned.

Didn't you say it was a close fight?

American judges almost ALWAYS give the fight to the aggressor. Chances are Cotto wins a SD even in Vegas because Clottey does NOT do enough.
