Official Mike Tyson vs Vitali Klitschko thread

Tyson was not invincible. Tyson fans are forced to point to a two year period where he supposedly was invincible because he got pounded around by Douglas (when he was only 23!!!, he's past his prime at 23???), was humiliated by Holyfield. They throw out about 13 of his 15-16 years as a fighter. That is disingenuous to say the least.

They somehow forget that even during this this supposed invincible time, he had a tough time against James Tillis, a taller fighter. Spinks was nothing, Marvis Frazier was nothing like Joe. vitali would likewise destroy those people that he destroyed. During this supposed 2 year prime he never came close to fighting anybody like 6 foot 8, built like a rock & wouldn't be bullied Klitschko. You talk about competitiion in the late 80s? After Holmes left (he beat a shot Holmes), and Foreman was out of the division during his supposed prime, there were no significantly strong fighters to challenge Tyson. Surely none at Vitali's level.

If you had Spinks as his main competition, then we could see how low the skill level was. Their skill level was not any better than the Peter's of today. Even a late 80 version of Foreman, if he would have kept fighting, would have pounded around and knocked out the much shorter Tyson during his prime. The same goes for Vitali. No doubt he'd land stuff on either of them, but neither of them would have wilted like Spinks did. The prime Lewis would have dispatched of Tyson in his supposed 2 year prime.

 

Thank god I only have to sport it for a month, seeing Wlad and Vitali naked everytime I post is starting to bother me. I wonder if Kobe is God will let me change my avatar to something else, since you already have it as yours.:think

 

I have to sympathize with the guy who doesn't like Klitschko, that avatar of practically naked Klitshckos is kind of unseemly. Make him have an avatar of Klitschko pounding Peter, or the brothers raising their hands in celebration. You shouldn't force him to have one like that.

Spinks is leaps and bounds better than anybody Vitaly ever beat, Vitaly couldn't handle Byrd. BTW Tyson was able to handle the faded legend in Holmes in front of him, your boy got his ass handed to him by a faded lewis, therefore proving he isn't that good. Who has Vitaly beaten thats worth a ****?

As for Peter, he is a joke, he shows up weighing 250+ in every fight Spinks, 88 Holmes, Bruno, Ruddock and most of the others from the 80s would beat him, and are better then him, he got beat by an old fat middleweight, nearly KTFO by a faded 37 yr old McCline, he is nowhere near as good as Mike Spinks, hell Leon was better than him too. Who has Peter beat that was worth a ****?

VItali would have a 7" height advantage and Tyson has never fought anyone with a style similar to Klitschko. Vitali wouldn't be intimidated by Mike either, in fact Vitali is a pretty scary opponent himself.

Likewise I think Lewis defeats any version of Mike.

 

Vitali Klit too big and powerful for prime Mike Tyson.... Tyson would look like a midget.... Klit by wicked KO inside of 8 rds..... :|

Prime Lewis beats prime Tyson 95% of the time. I watched every single Tyson fight, most of them while they were happening, and the part you guys forget is that the competition level was worse than today's. Tyson was a destroyer no doubt, but beating Spinks, old Holmes & Bonecrusher Smith is less impressive in retrospect. I think that's why Tyson's legacy isn't what Lewis's is.

What if Vitali retires & Wladimir retires shortly afterward and Peter goes on to become a very dominate champion? That would raise both Vitali's & Wladimir's stock would it not?

Tyson had 2 hard long fights vs. Ruddock & Lewis knocked the **** outta him in 2 rounds.

For the record I rate Chris Byrd's boxing achievements at higher than Michael Spinks

He's one of the worst posters on the entire forum. Ever since getting his name changed he's been trying to change everything around to gain sympathy votes like now. The only poster on this thread that could be argued as worse would be LennoxGOOCH. That right there is the supreme gay poster duel.

 

I don't post here much anymore b/c of the idiots floating around these days. Its too irritating. Cap Funds is not a bad poster at all as far as i'm concerned.

 

If I was dumb enough to put Tyson as the best heavyweight of all-time, I would talk trash about other posters, too.

Tyson is one of the ATG heavies, Vitaly is the one overhyped based on getting stopped by an old faded Lewis, like I said earlier he couldn't get the job daone against a shot fighter.
