They made enough to get everyone paid and not take a loss. Seems good to me for a fighter from a obscure country.
unless he's fighting canelo, cotto or ward in his next fight, it ain't going to be ppv. ggg needs more showcase fights/exposure.
I've been saying exactly that since before GGG-Lemieux even took place. The only other possible option that might surface is Andy Lee, depending on how his bout with BJS goes.
Exactly. Like I said in another thread, anything over 100k was always going to be a success. This was a low-cost event by comparison to other PPVs so measuring a guy like GGG against the numbers of Pac and Mayweather is just stupid. With 150k, the ticket revenue, overseas revenue and other income this fight probably posted a pretty tidy profit in a fight where short-term profit wasn't the primary focus. They're trying to build GGG into a PPV star and two fights against Canelo and Cotto will cement that, I reckon.
Anybody that's says it's a good number cause ggg is from other countries is the biggest re**** ever. It's no excuse for that HBO ppv fight to be over 150k because ggg has fought many times at the garden and puts seats there plus tv ratings has been good when ggg fights on HBO tv. But over 150k on HBO for ggg? It's very bad. You ppl that defend ggg poor ppv buys is f4cking re****ed. It's no excuse none.
Moments after writing this Ray hogans head exploded into tiny bits May he find peace in his Next existence
Have you ever traveled anywhere in the world? Have you ever noticed how hard it is to be a Star in the USA unless you are American? Dumb F***
He has fought many times on hbo. Fought alot at the garden which he does put ppl to seat and hbo tv ratings have went well. So all of that lead to.....150k ppv buys???? Like I said it's no excuse.
The Gennady Golovkin-David Lemieux middleweight title unification fight on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York generated "just over" 150,000 pay-per-view buys, K2 Promotions managing director Tom Loeffler told ESPN.com on Thursday night So I'm guessing about 90k-110k
Rayhogan taped his head together But it will unravel In a bloody splatter Of grey matter On his computer screen While offering a tissue To his own issue With **** vasoline At the thought of The Pound for pound king Golovkin Dominate his thoughts Like he dominate the ring
when he becomes undisputed next year, the so called "big names" would have to step up and fight him, or look ridiculous fighting for minor belts and trying to sell that to the public.
I think HBO was looking for around 200,000. Not too far off, then. Seems the promotion was a financial success, wasn't it?
