“We got an official offer from M-1 to the UFC to do a co-promotion for the Couture-Emelianenko fight, and they (UFC) rejected that offer. Really, the only thing standing in the way for that fight right now is Dana and the UFC. Obviously, M-1 is happy to do a co-promotion like that. It only serves to help them. I think the UFC is looking at it the other way, and it’s like why do we want to help out another organization? The fans want to see that fight. At some point, you have to put that first.”

Boxingcar forget about it.If you anything like me you`ve been reduced to watching old PRIDE shows and hoping that Hero`s might become the next big thing. The UFC right now is going through a very quiet patch.Monopolies are never good for any business and MMA is the same.Dana holds all the chips now and wont play ball with anyone.Fedor Couture as far as im concerned is dead in the water.Long live the UFC...

    :-(
That part is ridiculous, those fights are void and not even important anymore, will the UFC even try to sell DVDS of Pride fights?

If not, just let us watch the fights.

Doubt it. I remember when you could find tons of pride fights on youtube. As soon as Pride got sold, they all disappeared.

:dead your right competition is great ...just like boxing....they have
the IBF,WBA,WBO, WBC and all the other alphabet soups....and look how great that turned out. Maybe we can get more weight classes too and everybody can have a a couple belts like in boxing.

There are still a lot of Pride fights on Youtube. You have to look for them - but they are still around.

And don't forget that anyone in the States can use Netflix to get all of the classic Pride DVDs. Check them out now before they disappear.

id rather have boxings current system than have the "What Dana white says goes" system.

Imagine if the commisioner of boxing was able to say a certain fighter was a "farce" and "****ing garbage".

Good point. The face of the UFC is seriously lacking a professinal element. It would be like making a promoter a commissioner, really thats what happened with the UFC. Could you imagine Don King as the one and only boxing commisioner? Thats the system the UFC has. It seems to work alright for matches, but some fighters just aren't getting a piece.. Like Barnette.
