Dude, Quintana was still ranked top 10 ww when he fought Williams in the first fight. Just cause he lost to a great fighter in Cotto don't mean he wasn't ranked.

Show me where I mention any name but Goosen in that post? Again, the champ putting a rematch clause in is pretty standard stuff. If Goosen is balking at it is an EXCUSE to get out of making this fight. This is really simple isn't it? Wow! This is about a tough a match as can be. It's hard to pick a winner. We'll find out two things? One how Pavlik deals with the volume punching of Williams and two how Williams deals with a puncher when he gets tagged by Pavlik.

this IS a great fight. it IS good for boxing. it IS great for a stagnating yet prestigious/premier division in boxing.

i want pav to win. i always want pav to win. he is my guy. but i like williams, too. i have always liked him. he seems to be a pretty decent guy. it is possible to like both fighters. hell i was big jt fan when he fought pav and i still am (and hope he somehow pulls out a miracle in this smw tourney)

if this fight doesnt happen, we can blame the promoters b/c i don't think either fighter has a problem mixing it up w/ the other. if this fight does happen, then no excuses before and no excuses after. these are two grown men and elite fighters who know what time it is.

I'd say Williams, only cause Pavlik got exposed and may be damaged goods. If he learned from the loss though, he may come back stronger than ever. Time will tell

 

Anytime the poll results are this close, you know you've got a heck of a matchup. This fight needs to happen.
