To quote Bronco McKart after he suffered the first knock out of his long career, "I think this kid is the real deal." It's my feeling that a lot of the people who bad mouth Pavlik have not followed his career very closely. The idea that he is a straight forward slugger that can't box is ridiculous. "The Ghost" moniker was given to him because of his ability to be elusive. Just because he prefers to fight a certain way does not mean it's the only thing he knows how to do. Further, all the critizisms people have for Kelly Pavlik; ie, slow of foot, stands up to tall, mediocre hand speed, one dimensional, et, were also made of a young man by the name of Alexis Arguello, and WE KNOW how things turned out for him! Taylor has no chance against Pavlik. If he pot shots and moves a lot Kelly WILL catch him and take him out in 10 or 11 rounds. If he goes to war with the Ghost, he won't hear the bell for round 7! Boo
I honestly expect this to turn out to be very much like Arthur Abraham vs Khoren Gevor, somebody is gonna dry the strength out of the other like water from a bursted hose or air from a popped balloon and overcome the other in the final rally - it is senseless to believe that Kelly will throttle Jermain justlikethat or that Jermain will unleash some withheld potential that will have Kelly outclassed - even if something out of the ordinary happens, I still believe beforehand that these guys are well matched. Down the line, Jermain's acquired experience at top level may prove to be essential whereas Kelly is just 25 and has time left to comeback strong...
Unfortunately I think Taylor will probably get the nod with ******edly 1 sided cards despite a very even fight.
This content is protected Hello, Guys! I'm up in Maine having a great time. Lots of lobster & trying to make to week last as long as possible, cause yjis coming Sat., its back to Jersey & then down to AC for the fight. Talk to you guuys is a day or so.
Probably a Taylor lover who lampley hires. I cant wait for pavlik to knock taylor out just to hear lampley cry like a baby---or should I say hear lampley make every excuse in the book for taylors ass whooping.
Actually, I don't see any reason why HBO won't be glad for a Pavlik victory. The guy is young, exciting to watch, is a great puncher and is personable. There's no reason he can't be marketed just as successfully as Taylor, if not more so. It's something of a win/win situation for HBO, in my opinion. (barring a really boring fight, or controversial decision)
Very true Boinko but I dont see Lampley nut hugging Pavlik when he becomes champ like he has nut hugged taylor all this time.
A couple more days until Jermain reestablishes himself as the man in the middleweight division. :happy
