Official Pavlik VS. Martinez Poll--April 17th

Pavlik has struggled with weight off and on for years. Less than a year before he fought Taylor there was talk of him moving to 168. He fought one catchweight fight at 164, and then fought at 160 in his next 3 fights. His second fight with Taylor was contracted at 166, but KP weighed in at 164. More recently he made 160 in a 5 week camp after a ten month lay off. He'll probably be just fine by the April 16th weigh in.

This poll still cracks me up. Thirteen people voted for Martinez by KO. Ya right -- Sergio is going to do what Zuniga and Miranda couldn't do. He's going to KO the guy that 185 pounds of Bernard Hopkins couldn't stop. You betch ya!

Anything can happen in boxing, but I won't be surprised if this fight is a total mismatch. Martinez makes a lot of mistakes, and has the wrong kind of flaws to hang with KP for very long.

 

If Kelly was fighting Paul they would have to use those little numbered tags instead. Probably at least a dozen.

 

My wife said they are going to Florida for a month. Maybe Jack just wants a vacation.

I have Pavlik by KO. I think Martinez will give Pavlik a lot of problems early by slipping a lot of punches and countering and I think he'll take quite few early rounds. As the fight comes down the stretch I think Martinez will begin to fade from fighting at a pretty high rate. He'll get caught with his hands down a few times throughout the fight and I see him getting caught in the ropes and getting taken out.

jack and kelly are going to florida the 15th for the rest of the camp.. kelly looks good real good and he will get the wt off with no problems. and herm i will take your advice with the ignore list. there is a low life in here i just cannot stand to read their comments. too negative of a person . he also is pathetic and a little weird

 

Maybe I should go down with them and lose my winter weight too.

Whaaaatever. I never said Williams was the best, he's just my favorite. Boy knows how to bring it round after round. This thread isn't about him, though. C'mon.
