Official Pavlik VS. Martinez Poll--April 17th

I think they will only time will tell.

 

I like Pavlik's size advantage, long jab, punching power in the right hand, and workrate to eventually slow Sergio, who'll fade imo after winning most of the early rounds with his handspeed. Wouldnt be too surprised if KP lost though - he does have holes in his game that can be taken advantage of by more athletic, technically sound guys with good stamina and foot-movement.

 

im interested in hearing your take on Pavliks holes in his game. Please expand. Marty's fighting style and low hand position will be his downfall. After he gets tagged enough in the head, his body is going to be wide open. He moves to the right. Imagine his right side rib cage at the end of 6 rounds. I hope he cries like rubio.:|

 

Yeah i'm actually going with a 7th round T/KO ... I think that Martinez would have a hard fought 2-3 rounds with Pavlik taking over the rest of the fight for as long as it lasts. Pavlik is going to hit the body ... wear Martinez down with pressure and knock him out with a flush right hand. Margarito pressured Martinez till he wilted ...

Williams doesn't apply the pressure that Pavlik does ... I mean Williams is a come forward fighter but he doesn't pressure like Pavlik ... he uses more angles and such.

I just hope after the fight is over Pavlik calls out Williams or sets the record straight.

I won't be there at Boardwalk Hall. I live in NW Oregon. Beautiful country, but the arm pit of the world where boxing is concerned. I'm hoping that sometime soon I can ride my Harley to a big fight in Vegas. Awesome road trip right there:yep

 

Not trying to be an ass, but NBA claimed to have talked with Peterson to which certain Pav fans ripped him for without a link...I provided the link. I'm saying in the interest of fairness since nobody believed NBA without a link, a link should be provided to debunk this as well. Just trying to keep the playing field level.

 

Seems like just about everyone is putting on the blinders. Yeah, I heard Paul make a comment prior to the fight, but it wasn't a definitive statement and could have been interpreted as a 'for this fight' type of statement. I posted about it at the time.

Everyone involved here should know by now that Pavlik and Williams were in a bidding war for Martinez. The fact Pavlik won should tell everyone the 50/50 bull**** is just that. Bull****. THAT came after Goosen saw Martinez rough up Paul pretty good and it wasn't because Paul's stock had just gone UP!

 

Kelly isn't going to be bending down and lunging in asking to be hit. Kelly will come forward but Martinez will have to stand his ground and try to get inside Kelly's longer reach. Kelly is pretty good picking off shots with his gloves but doesn't get credit for it because he doesn't mind taking a few that don't hurt him to deliver his own damaging blows. Kelly's fundamentals are WAY better than Paul William's.

 

Yeah, most of these fools know that I speak to Peterson. I have posted pics of me and Peterson and me and Paul before and after numerous fights... Look in my profile pic, for crying out loud.... after the Margo fight.


Pavlik is King was just trying to be an ass about it. But thanks for the link. It actually proves a lot that Peterson has said this about not fighting Pav loooooooooong before the tough fight with Sergio...:good

 

I think after the Martinez fight Paul can kiss his career high pay day and shot at the MW titles good bye because a definitive Pavlik win will make a match with Paul moot. But, he has already made that choice anyhow.
