Agreed. It's made me a lot less worried about this fight that both Kelly and the Team seem to appreciate the challenge Martinez presents and don't plan just to plod in there and hope to land a big shot at some point.

 

You lost me here. I agree that Martinez might turn up better conditioned this time, but he did run out of gas pretty quickly vs. Williams - his defence went to rack and ruin before Round 6, and if he does that against KP he will DEFINITELY get nailed at some point. Also, Pavlik can throw just as many punches as Williams if necessary, even if not as wildly, which may be a good thing or a bad thing.

 

that better not be the plan. if kelly's not on his A game against martinez he's gonna be in for a rough night. this is a huge opportunity for kelly to put himself back in the spotlight and show he's still got it. he'll be ready.

 

martinez has fantastic stamina, but when you're on your toes and moving as much as he is getting pressured as hard as he was against williams, you're gonna run out of gas. that's going to be key for kelly. he's gonna have to apply some serious pressure in order to win this fight. if he does, i definitely see him knocking martinez out.

 

Williams might throw a lot, but Kelly can also and he throws harder and straighter and usually has a higher connect percentage than Williams. THAT is pressure. Martinez simply cannot allow the same connect rate Williams managed.
