I ask while we are still in the immediate aftermath of Canelo-Golovkin. I know I have another poll on what you guys thought about the verdict. In this thread and poll, suppose both fighters seek a rematch and one is then arranged and scheduled for most likely Cinco de Mayo weekend 2018, who will win? Obviously, take into account their body of work and this fight. Vote and comment.

I don't give GGG any chances of beating Canelo in a rematch, even if he wins every round. The rematch is very likely going to be closer, with Canelo knowing what to expect and GGG being older. If GGG wasn't given the decision this time, in which he clearly won, there's no way the judges will reward him a decision in the rematch.

GGG needs the final belt, and make this rematch his last fight for the payday.

People continue to pick KO anytime GGG fights. He was supposed to KO Canelo last nite, what happened there?

Lol just cause he doesnt get a KO doesnt mean he doesnt win.

Do you know how hard it is to KO someone who knows all he has to do is see the final bell.

I picked Canelo by decision. Oscar will buy 2 scorecards in the rematch.

Well he won a fight on the cards mate. Unfortunately Byrd's level of corruption prevented the correct decision being rendered and gave boxing another black eye.

Did you have Nelo winning the first time round? I think it says a lot when the widest ODLH dared score it was 115-113 in favour of his cash cow.

I had Canelo edging a close fight 7-5... I looked at how the fight was playing out and thought Canelo landed the cleaner punches which was shown by his power punches landed on compubox.
I think he dictated the ring distance has well and had the better ring generalship.
He had better effective aggression which was evident by GGG missing over 300 punches over 12 rounds. Also he had a slightly higher connect % after it was said and done as well.
And defense went to Canelo as well..

OK. I hear you. So why do you think pretty much everyone in the sport scored it for Golovkin?

Not sure... To be honest, I think a lot of the punches that missed by GGG they scored, and were totally ignoring the work that Canelo was doing.. i think the ring generalship that Canelo displayed was misconstrued as running, therefore Canelo might have been punished for doing so..lol
