The fight is 8 day ahead, and that's an ''important'' fight for UFC, because we all know that if Liddell win and Forrest win their next bout, they will face each other probably in a contender bout for the belt. For all that matter, I think Liddell isnt what he used to be, but Rashad was a bad matchup for him due to his very impressive handspeed. Shogun will be better than he was vs Coleman, but you don't grow a cardio just in a couple of months. Shogun will give it all in the first round trying to KO Liddell, in a very agressive way and I think Liddell will spar him out going backward. If Evans and Rampage were bad matchup for Liddell, Shogun is tailor made for him. I'll be very surprised if Liddell lost this one. If he loses, he need to hang out, because if he CANT beat ''that'' Shogun, with the style in his favour, then he will never beat no other top 5. And I can't wait to see if Liddell has some punch resistance in him. His last 2 losses by KO were just brutal. Avatar BET FOR THAT FIGHT Liddell québecwarrior Shogun Grievesy
I hope Liddell will use his kick. Back in the days, he used it enough to keep his opponent honest at that range. Now, he doesnt kick at all anymore. I'll be surprised if the fight hit the ground.
If other people want to join for the avatar bet, just say it. It will be one month, just enough before the other big avatar bet Evans-Machida
I don't have unconditional blind faith in Shogun, but damn I love seeing Chuck lose. Sic'em Rua! :happy
Liddell is finally training with a boxing coach Howard Davis Jr. to improve defense for that chin of his. Well it depends what Shogun turns up, if Shogun fights like we all know he can he should win, but in the Coleman fight he was tired and his stand up was ****, if he does that against Liddell he will get uppercuttedTFO. i do think this is Shogun's time and he should win via armbar. But then again i see Liddell winning via KO. This fight is interesting because it is very hard to call.
I'm banking on Shogun's last preformance being down to ring rust rather than him being shot. He's still quite young so even after his injuries etc I think he can still perform. Liddell however is shot to **** and hasn't looked good in his last four fights. I think it's too little too late regarding him training to keep his hands up. Theres NO chance that he is getting the belt back.
I'll take Chuck if anyone's interested in that avatar bet, I think the old boy has 1 more run before he calls it a day. His back is against the wall so he'll be ready. People keep talking about how Shogun will gas but that was fighting coleman and Forrest who kept up a fast pace and going for takedowns, liddells style won't make Shogun work as hard so I expect a close fight.
I liked shogun before last 2 fights. If he fights the same way Liddell will have a field day with him. Make no mistake, it WILL be brutal.
I like Chuck Liddell in this fight by 2nd round TKO. Shogun is similar in style to Wanderlei Silva which is what Liddell needs somebody who will come to him so he can jab and fire his right hand. Liddells finetuning his boxing skills which ATT so that should help I expect him to 1-2 Shogun much like he did to Silva. Liddell still has cardio the torid 3 round pace he held with Wanderlei proved that. Shogun gassed out EARLY vs Coleman and screw the layoff excuse because he gassed out quickly vs Forrest as well. Shoguns going to be dangerous for a round or two but if Liddell can survive which is a big if of course he takes it comfertably.
:happy Chucks been losing to elite type fighters, not having a seizure in a close fight with a 73 yr old
Yeah not to mention the 73 year old had to cut weight, drop the roids, off for well over 2 years and doesnt have much else in his game besides his wrestling and hammerfast. Shogun looked dead after the fight either that man doesnt train or he has some serious lung issues.
