i think Casa is shot and not really a threat to any elite fighter at this point

    JMM wins convincingly

judging from the poll, not many people think Casa will pull it off

I have already listed Diaz's advantages. He is faster, bigger and stronger. JMM has better stamina than Diaz? No, I don't see that at all. :nut Skill and ring intelligence basically go hand and hand. Diaz will beat JMM....as long as he don't lose to a shot Casamayor

i don't know, but a lot of people are underrating casamayor here. at least, he's getting even more underrated than jmm. should be a close decision in favor of .. maybe marquez.

edit: i'm gonna vote casa, though, so i can say "i told you so".

How do you figure Diaz is bigger?

Diaz weighs in at 135 lbs and usually is'nt more than 140 lbs at fight time.
......thats basically the weight that JMM weighs when he fights as a junior lightweight......138 lbs-140 lbs.

The Casamayor fight will certainly let us all know how physically strong JMM is as a lightweight.
.....check back with me after the fight Valdosta!:thumbsup

The poll is actually showing what the fighting bet odds are on this fight.
Last I heard the bookmakers had it 4-1 in favor of JMM.
.....looks like they've done their homework!:yep

Casamayor fight doesn't tell me anything for how JMM will do against a guy like Diaz. Check back with you? Why would I do that and about what? I wasn't responding to anyone in this thread I made a in general comment which you of course responded to. God forbid anyone pick someone to beat the unbeatable Marquez. You seem to think JMM is some unbeatable monster when the truth is the guy hasn't even had 1 fight at 135. How is Diaz bigger? Look at him and then Marquez, you will figure it out. Diaz is the naturally bigger guy who has fought at 140 as well.

Nah, man. I'm not underestimating Marquez. God forbid I do that ever again. I'm just not into underestimating Casa, that's all. He's one of those fighters who will continually prove you wrong if you keep underrating him. And I just don't see how JMM can go into attack mode and pressure Casa. JMM is a GREAT GREAT counterpuncher and boxer. But he's not a pressure fighter. The Pac example is not a good example IMO. Pac is HORRIBLE at fighting off the backfoot, he's also not good at counterpunching either. That's why JMM had no problem attacking Pac.

Casa is different from MAB as well in the sense that Casa will be coming in this fight the stronger guy compared to MAB when he went up against JMM. He's also not a boxer/slugger/counterpuncher that MAB was. He's a slickster/counterpuncher meaning he incorporates good upper body movement/overall body movement into his counterpunching style. So if JMM initiates, he won't necessarily always find Casa right in front him.

The way I see it, JMM will be the one who will initiate. He will be the one who will set the pace BUT it will be a tactical pace. Meaning he's gonna pick the right time when to initiate. Pick his shots and time him when he's open. He shouldn't pressure Casa too much the way he did Pac because I honestly see him in the same way as Katsidis: In the canvas.

JMM would beat Casa though I'm pretty confident of that. :good It just that we disagree, as always, on the manner of JMM's victory.

Juan diaz will destroy jmm, knowing that he likes to circle his man while giving on flurries. Tell me how the **** will jmm counter a guy circling around him like a carousel? Juan wins that match by a ud if not by a sd if jmm is lucky.(again, fortunately for him.)

Tell me divac, if jmm loses i hope you won't make a lame excuse that jmm is shot! That excuse is getting recycled everytime i go to boxing web sites: em is shot, mab is shot, larios is shot, hoya is shot, b-hop is shot, casa is shot...yada yada yada. I hope you wil be a man enough to admit jmm can't match up to casa's boxing intelehente, and won't be crying like a wuss, divac!

I said before the JMM-Pac fight, that there would be no excuses from me as far as JMM's performance is concerned......leading to that Pac rematch, JMM had'nt shown any siginificant signs of decline.

.....going into this Casamayor fight, the same thing goes.
In fact, JMM has looked great his last several outings, so unlike Erik Morales for example who was coming off a loss where he looked shot vs Raheem before he rematched Pac......nothing like that has occured here with JMM.

One thing is to disagree with a decision, and another thing is to make excuses for the performance.
I'll have absolutely no excuses as far as JMM's performance is concerned.
.....never had one for Pac either, JMM fought great!

A big win by Casa against Katsidis does not make him a shot fighter.
Casa by KO in the 8th round.
