Delvin can crack and box, but has bad stamina, not very consistent. If Cotto could hurt him or outclass him like Trout did, which I think he still can, Cotto wins. But a flash knockdown early by DRod wouldn't surprise me. Depends how much Cotto has left.

Cotto also has bad stamina , but lets just see what kind of Cotto freddie Roach can bring out of him .

If Cotto has 50% left, he should win

Delvin looked pretty shopworn in his last fight. He's been through quite a few wars.

Cotto likely doesn't have the pop to stop him, but should have a pretty wide points win.

:blood You have missed at least one FOTY candidate, then. Several additional wars to boot.

Only twice have Rodriguez matches ever been truly boring, and they had a lot to do with the styles of the opponents (Theophane and Trout, both losses)

Rodriguez is a solid fighter. He's a fringe contender who has had a couple title shots but nothing to show for it. His FNF against Wolak was a FOTY. It was an absolute war that gained him exposure and a lot of new fans. When I had my boxing blog I did a brief interview with Delvin and he is a good guy. He is coming off two nice wins since the Trout let down so I expect him to bring his best as he always does and give Cotto some solid work.

I think Cotto has the better pedigree and will win a clean Dec. in the end, but Rodriguez will show up and make it a good night.

The fight is in Florida being promoted by TR. I would expect them to try and have Rigo on the card if they can. Maybe 50 can get Bob to let Gamboa on the card as well. They need to get these Cuban fighters fights in Florida where they have a better following.

In fairness, he did get screwed in two eliminators (Hlatschwayo I and Jackiewicz) and one title shot (Hlatschwayo II)

Rodriguez is no Trout. He doesn't move, he doesn't fully utilize his physical advantages. This will lead to Cotto -- unless he has some massive decline -- beating him up and going to a clear decision or late stoppage.

That was pretty well proven h2h. :yep Different level.

Yeah. D-Rod is a solid guy, and does lots of things well - the problem is they're more or less all things Cotto does as well or better.
