It was dominating. It was also boring and he didn't do anywhere near as well as he could. Not because he didn't take chances. That would imply he was ever in danger. He wasn't, and that's why it was frustrating. He threw only one or two right hands prior to the 7th round. He looked afraid of getting countered. Ibragimov tried to look like he wasn't scared. But he was just as cautious. He seemed wary of that right hand.
I'm sure its been said a million times already but what the **** was he waiting for? For whatever reason Wlad showed Iggy a ton of respect tonight Either way a win is a win
I voted for the first option because I thought Wlad's jab was great and he kept the right distance the whole fight. That being said, I also think he was too cautious. He traded potential glory (going for the KO) for completely shutting his opponent down. By opening up more he would've made himself vulnerable to Sultan's quick counters. I know Wlad likes to study his opponents but he gave Izzy way too much respect.
hmmm a ton of respect.....manny was saying to vlad at the end that the fight should not have gone 12... bit too much respect on vlad's part. ring rust - i'm quite sure. love the Vlad but bad showing - more guts needed.
a win is a win. It was a dominating win too. Yes it was dull, yes Klitschko could have/should have done so much more because it was obvious that Ibragimov was nowhere near the same level, but it has to be said that Ibragimov was nowhere near the same level. WK knew it, SI knew it, everyone knew it. It has to be said how surprisingly easy of a fight it was for Klitschko. Ibrag looked very amateurish in there, kind of like the way Brock did. Of course Brock had the big KO finish.
See, thats where I differ. I knew it was going to be easy. It should have been easier IMO (and Stewards apparently) I think it's better to take a chance and fire the right hand and take him out early once you realize he is not on your level than to wait and wait and take a chance on getting caught by a wild punch (and Sultan was throwing them).
