It was a good win. Dull and lackluster, but good none the less. I will say, after the first few rounds, it was obvious Wlad would have his way. He shoulda took him out IMHO.
It wasn't flawless... but it was a great win for him. There is nothing wrong with a dominant decision.
A win is win . . . I'm just not satisfied and very much disappointed with the very calculating performance. No wonder . . . the division is in it's all time low,
From Ruiz one expected nothing more. The ropes did save Sultan from going down, once. jeus christ on a stick, what the hell do you expect from a man with a glass chin with in the ring with a man with over 85% KO's? 17/23, with no need to be over brave.
85% KOs against who though? The best guy he punched out was Lance Whitaker, hardly a top-level opponent. A win is a win like I voted for, but with all the attention focused on this bout I think it was a disappointment.
Let´s just hope Klitschko will be more active from now on, like taking 3 fights a year. That way, the dull fights will get lost in the mix and not leave such a bad taste. Wlad should take 2 more fights this year, either unify or take care of both the IBF and WBO mandatories.
a descent showing from wlad, though he could have opened up a lot. still a ok showing for controlling barney rubble with the jab.
You know, it WAS a flawless technical performance of jab and footwork. But at the same time it was so dissapointing. Especially because he trained so hard and had a training camp tough as hell. With those preparations he could have destroyed 3 fighters at the same time.
I chose a win is a win. Though the most fitting description would have been unnecessarily too cautious.
It was a technical fight, both fighters were too cautious. Wlad was there to get the win exclusivelly, it didn't matter if the fans were not pleased. He went the safer way, the safer game plan, took no risks and displayed another dominant fight, pretty impressive if you ask me. It wasn't a pleasing bout but I thought it was good enough. Wlad has improved a lot since joining forces with Stewart. He's learned to protect his average chin, he is fast, he is powerfull, impressive footwork for his size, paces himself in the ring, throws his punches at the right moments, makes great use of his size, moves in and out with impressive speed, keeps the pressure on the opponent and is aggressive in a smart and safe way. I was amazed to see that Ibragimov was not faster than Wlad at all, in fact, it seemed like he had nothing on Wlad, but a hard and durable chin.
