Official Prediction: Adrien Broner vs Shawn Porter

Haymon would be entitled to praise if he allowed both fighters to weigh in at 147 and didnt insist on another weigh in the next day. We want same day weigh ins and rehydration clauses removed surely.

 

I cautiously chose Broner by UD. I think the weight might play into his hands and slow Porter down enough to make this a good fight.

Ordinarily, I'd say Porter is probably a bad style match up for Broner, but just have a feeling the weight evens things up somewhat on the output part.

Good fight, all the same, looking forward to it. This is an example of a fight which I think becomes more interesting due to the catchweight.

I to look forward to fight my friend. But I understand why such clauses have turned people off such fights. And I hope I do not watch the Mr Porter fade due to him not being able to rehydrate in an optimum manner. Call me naive but why would Broner insist on such clauses as were he to win any victory is undoubtedly tainted.

 

As ever in these sort of things - I take the line that Porter knows his body better than any of us do. If he feels he can get to that weight and still win the fight then I trust his judgement. He probably knows he has a better chance at 147, but this fight probably isn't worthwhile at that weight.

 

Intruiging fight. It's a pick em' to be honest. Broner hasn't looked impressive lately but showed resiliance in fightinh to the end vs. Maidana. Also, Porter can't deal with counterpunching (ie- Kell Brook and 1st Diaz fight). He walked though Paulie because he has 0 power.

 

If this was a video game, you would need to beat everyone with Broner before unlocking Porter.
