so what about citron vs martinez? martinez scored a KO but it was ruled a draw...that's a fact, not an adjustment. the problem is that the ref, and often the judges, rework what happened in the fight to suit the narrative they want to write

It was ruled a draw, then in the sport of boxing it is a draw. Kudo's to Cintron. Kudo's to boxing. Kudo's to fate.

    I believe in boxing.

Trolling and playing Devil's Advocate are two different things.

Seamus is a smart person, and although you may disagree with his views, his arguments have reason and substance to them, unlike some of us, who get shown up for being at the very least; too passionate.;)

Deferring to boxing judges to compile your list is like deferring to politicians to make decisions for you.

Sure you can do it, but as soon as a politician doesn't represent your views, the idea is to **** them off.

It's a matter of whether you consider a blow (a slap is more appropriate word) with open glove as a clean hit or not. The referee didn't consider it as such, thus the result.

In light of the Pac-Bradley Debacle, has anyone changed their mind on this issue ?

If we accept Ford-Ross-Roth's take, Bradley has a W over the p4p 1 or 2 (depending on your take). Should this 'victory' improve his overall standing, either currently or alltime ?

Personally, I believe that this ranks with Lewis-Holyfield i and Oscar-Tito as so clearly erroneous that it can bbe set aside as a special case.

    Thoughts ?

A little from column A and some from B. The circumstances would largely dictate my outlook. If it's a close fight that could arguably go either way, I don't let my personal scorecard interfere with the official verdict. In cases like Lara-Williams, Rios-Abril, Lewis-Holy 1, and even Pac-Bradley, there are more things to consider.

Sometimes the judges **** it up!

I had Hagler beating Leonard each and every time I watch the fight, but I respect the fact that Ray won that fight and deserves recognition for such.

How does this thinking not apply to the fighters way back? You know, the ones you claim are propped up out of rose tinted nostalgia. Shouldn't you respect that they fare well in their own narrative. What's the difference between the media or writers of a time propping up their generation of fighters like we often criticize here on the classic and professional judges being swept up and affected by the crowd noise? What makes one a great professional judge anyhow? What allows for professional judges to be warranted such a supreme judgement and not historians or boxing writers? Unless you're just playing devil's advocate because this opinion seems inconsistent general viewpoint you have on most with boxing. I guess that will tend to happen when you play contrarian on a regular basis.

Utter bollocks. I will only give you that television can become a deception (Broadcasters framing fights a certain way).

Whoooooooooooooa, hang on there, Seamus. Gee whiz, mate. I don't think there's an apostrophe in kudos. Unless it's a guy named Kudo and it's something of his. I mean, I could be wrong. I'm from Caxap, and we learn Armenian English there.

Unless there is a robbery the official score should count in determing rankings.

And **** boxing and **** Bob Arum. I am going back to watching my old fight films or just watch cycling. I can deal with guys being juiced to the gills a lot better than these shenanigans.
