This is a mistake. I've admired Ricky's toughness, although I'm not particularly a fan of his style. I enjoyed his presence and fans in boxing, though. Hatton blew up so many times after fights, and for over three years now he's been overweight and probably not shying from drug use the following year after the Pac fight. Hatton's punch resistance faded before the Pac fight. The Mayweather loss and the huge up and down in weight depleted him. Even Lazcano had stunned Ricky prior to the Pac fight.

Now Hatton's a face first brawler closer to 35 than 30. Marciano tried for a comeback at the chance to fight Ingo and found out he just didn't have it like he used to. I worry the same for Ricky who blew up and already showed signs of decline prior to his official retirement. Ricky claims he be fighting with more technical focus and patience. Truth is he never had much technical prowess to fall back on. He fought the way he did out of toughness, body-punching, and a fighting spirit. and I hope he finds and gets what he wants out of this, though. I'll be pulling for Ricky.
