GGG wins by TKO/Ko in rounds 10-12. Alvarez will have plenty of success but will wilt as the fight goes on imo.

damn I was expecting a much more even poll, and I was also expecting a lot more people to make their predictions. Only 70 votes.

Depends on how GGG fights, if he comes out hyper aggressive, GGG wins by TKO3, if he plays it safe and works behind his jab, TKO7.

Jacobs was the real threat to Golovkin, (not Canelo).
Also you have to ask, "Are the likes of Smith and Khan really good prep for a fight with Golovkin?"

If Canelo had a proven track record at 160 I'd fancy his chances a lot better, lets say HE had beaten Lemieux & Jacobs, and GGG had been the one fighting the Khans and Smiths......

Always leaned towards GGG but going with Canelo now.

Just think he's got more facets to his game and will come through.

Canelo has hand speed, great combination punching, good defence and good power.

GGG power is the great equaliser but his footwork is exceptional and can cut the ring off better than anyone.

Both have great chins though so going to be fun!

Could depend on how Canelo fights too.

There have been some rumblings that his gameplan might be to close GGG down and slug it out with him up close. I've always thought that if a fighter has the chin to take Golovkin's punch it's a good way to fight him. Get into his face, rob him of the distance that he uses to generate his crazy power, and take it to the trenches. :ggg Adama and Ouma did that and although in the end they got the fark beaten out of them, they looked competitive for a while.

Alvarez is a step above those two, and maybe THAT is why he has been bulking up like he has. If he has the footwork to close Golovkin down, or if Golovkin decides to slug it out up close as well, we could be in for an absolute classic. :D

As I predicted, the GGG haters are as quiet as mice for this fight.

Come on, guys. There are dozens of you on this site. Why are you all hiding?

GGG wins by round 10 stoppage.
Canelo puts up a fine effort but eventually succumbs to superior power and pressure.

DLH ends up in tears which spoils his make up

I expect Canelo to try to box and move like Jacobs did, and keep GGG off of him with combinations. Eventually GGG will start landing power shots and breaking him down. Canelo will slow down and GGG will take over the fight and stop him.

Golovkin stays outside and keeps his jab long. Canelo struggles to deal with it due to slow feet and Gennady's mastery of distance. Canelo falls behind on rounds and is forced to open up and take risks. Golovkin cashes this in with power shots that Canelo never felt before.

    TKO 10th.

I think the key to beating Golovkin is the body. Jacobs and Murray were able to land some shots downstairs and you could see Gennady back up, drop his hands and scoop a big breath. He doesn't like those.

This will only look competitive for a couple of rounds until it's one way traffic towards the inevitable KO.
I wonder more what the judges scorecards will look like after the fight, and what the reactions from fans and media will be as the fight itself.
