A Mexican is Lara's Daddy? I assume you are referring to Carlos Molina. That fight resulted in a draw, but could of gone either way. It was a tough competitive fight, but nobody owend the other that night. There should be a rematch, but DeCubas, who manages both fighers doesn't want it just yet.

Gamboa would have his hands full with DeMarco at 135, but I expect another performance like he did against Ponce De Leon. Now with Vasquez, that would be a very interesting fight being that "El Titere" is not you typical Mexa. This kid is a pure boxer, it will be a very technical fight. But let's be honest here and not let Mexican pride get the better of us, Gamboa is extremely skilled and has a great combination of speed and power to allow him to get a the win in both situations. Against DeMarco, if Gamboa makes a mistake like against Salido it could cost him his undeafeted record so the Cubano will have to be fast, accurate, and stay sharp.

Mares has already been defeated by Rigondeax, but it was under very different circumstances, the Amatuers. Both have shown great skills in the pros, I don't know if Mares can figure out "El Chacal". Mares will have to constantly make adjustments and then readjust again, not only that but he will have to be ready to withstand some punishment. I do give Mares a chance at Guillermo Rigondeax. But he has to fix a couple of things with his attacks, like leading in low with his head and dropping his right, he's begging to get countered by left uppercuts.

But as far as Canelo, :-(, ese cabroncito is more protected than the gold at Ft. Knox. Right now Lara would outbox him and more than likely TKO him around the 8th. Canelo has potential and is improving, but right now.. toda via le falta! I know you have high hope for Canelo, I do too. But let's be real here man! He is a protected fighter that is being fed sub par compitition not suited for a Champion.

Hey was the win that Zou got over Veitia a fair and deserved one in you guys opinion? I mean besides the fact that Zou was 31 years old.

Statements like these proves just why you are the best Mexican/Hispanic poster on this site. You have never been afraid to say it like it is and I even think that many of us have learned from you. Supporting your Country and your fighters is a pretty normal thing but not admitting something is called denying yourself.

Yes, I do support the Cubans but I must say that not all of them are stars. In fact, out of the 20 or 30' or so of Cuban pro boxers only about 3-5 are Elite. Let's continue supporting our Countries but let's try to do it with an open mind!

Doc, no hard feelings, que viva Mexico! :good

    :thumbsup

Si mi hermano, Valdez lost yesterday. :verysad

I didn't see the fight but it seems it was pretty close. Well, we will not get to see Cuba vs Mex for the Gold at the Olympics but as we can see there's plenty of opportunities in the pros! :happy

    Saludos mi Compay! ;)

You have a point but I think Cuba's Robeisy, Iglesias and La Cruz could easily win the Gold even with crooked judges. Still haven't seen Yasnier ...

4 Golds would be great, 3 still very good but would settle with 2. ;)

These crazy games are ruining my health , let's see Toledo how he does tonight , he's going against a good oponent and Lomachenko goes against the Boricua , that one's very good too . Hope the Boricua doesn't get robbed . Peace .

I appreciate the compliment compay, I'm a fan of the sport of boxing first and foremost. I admit, I wasn't always that way.

Doc is a very knowledgable poster himself and does give props to fighters form other nationalities as well. He's just really stuck on Canelito right now and will defend him all the way, in my opinion Canelo doesn't deserve the support of a die hard fan like Doc right now until he proves himself. But it's not my business to be telling people who to support and how to.

Saludo a mis hermanos Cubanos que vienen de donde crece la palma!!!

    :rofl

Lomachenko has been doing very well, I would be surprised if the Boricua can beat him. I got the Bori as the underdog in this one but I am pulling for him.

    Latinos Unidos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my brother, I am sorry I just saw your post. Well, Yasnier Toledo won bigtime! Never seen Yasnier before but man this guy is great! Yasnier completely dominated his opponent with wicked side to side movements, great accuracy, superb speed and excellent defence, this guy has it all! Yasnier is also lefty on top of that. :scaredas:

But Yasnier has his hands completely full now as he will face P4P #1 Amateur boxer in the World Vasyl Lomachenko! Lomachenko also won and he impressed the heck out of me! This guy is insanely fast, accurate, has excellent defence, footwork and a lot of combinations. I have never ever seen a Russian fighter that good ( yes I know he is from UKR, to me it's the same ).

Lomachenko beat Felix Verdejo of PUR 14-9 pretty easy but Yasnier looked even better to me. Man, talking about two young and extremely talented fighters both Yasnier and Vasyl are possibly the best boxers in this tournament! It can't get better than this, Yasnier vs Vasyl is going to be simply AWESOME! Of course, I am rooting for the Cuban but it's going to be very hard to beat Lomachenko! But if there's a fighter capable of beating him it's " YASNIER TOLEDO " !!!

    Go Cuba !!!

    :bbb

Oh man, Robeisy Carrazana, Yasnier Toledo, Roniel Iglesias and Julio Cesar la Cruz are easily on Gamboa's level. It's a damm shame that we will never get to see them as pros unless they defect! :-(
