I don't want him to cut down. The reason he's so good is because his speed and size, ad the fact he isn't cutting weight makes him extremely resilient as well.

I think against the smaller guys a lot of his advantages would be negated by smaller, faster guys. And can anyone see him winning a stand-up battle with Aldo?

What a great card anyhow, lots of great fights, The barbarian had a great comeback and I admire the way he came out looking for the KO knowing he was down and needed it. How many times do you see guys going into final rounds losing the fight and still not "go for it" like Tim did. Props for that.

Hunt still keeps going blasted kongo out and puts himself in a position for a top 10 guy. who would have thought this a couple years ago.

Pettis had an amazing kick and put the crafty Lauzon to bed putting himself possibly for the next shot.

Bader beat up anout of shape old looking Rampage, rampage blamed a bad knee for his not making weight but excuses are just that excuses. Bader now looks to get back to the top 10.

Shields got by Akiyama but as usual didn't impress, His piter-pater punches were enough for the judges who certainly wern't pro Japenese on this night.I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Fitch-Shields

I agree, he only has 1 interesting fight at FW. And why would he drop when has beaten alot of top guys at LW and just had a close fight with Bendo.

Because the UFC is desperate for stars at 145Ibs? I mean let's be brutally honest that's why this issue is being pushed. Yes Edgar is undersized but White hasn't pushed St. Pierre, Silva or Jones to change weights despite all three being as oversized for their divisions as Edgar is undersized for his. But those moves won't benefit the UFC so they're all encouraged to stay at their base weight (the exception being Silva but as soon as he started drawing White became content with him at 185Ibs). The UFC knows it has nobody ready who is credible to the fans as a challenger to Aldo so they're desperate for Edgar to move down.

And to be honest I could see them trying to sweeten the deal by offering Edgar an instant title shot aginst Aldo. I don't see him moving down for anything less.

Aldo is a bad matchup for Edgar. It's not like he is going to have a size advantage, and he will lose any speed advantage he had over the guys at LW. Stylistically, it is a wrestler with good boxing against a guy that is very difficult to take down with excellent muay thai. I can't see Edgar winning that fight, unless he can push the pace enough to tire Aldo, but by the time that could happen, it would likely be too late and he would be down on the cards, and I highly doubt he could ever finish him.

Frankie Edgar is the rematch kid. Let him fight Bendo again.
