Round 2: Eiji´s right hook working well again..... Nice clinch by Gomi, some knees landed..... Eiji Trying the takedown....but Gomi got the best of it, and landed some big shots there......it´s over.....Gomi TKO2
Yeah, I forget how good he's supposed to be while he's throwing his face into punches and getting knocked down and very, very nearly subbed by a late replacement who was clearly out of his depth, until luckily Joe Rogan reminds me how good he is.
Edgar would beat this version of Gomi with ease.....his stand up ability faded too much.....almost everyone can hit him cleanly today.......
Eiji Mitsuoka (M) vs Takanori Gomi (G) Rd1: G in a '******'-like (Jardine) hands low stance. Keeps getting tagged. Gets rocked by a right hook coming in to attck. M jumps on him and gets him in what is described as a 'mounted triangle' with 38 seconds to go. G looks like he's all set to tap but saved by the bell. Rd2: G throws several combinations, hands and feet. Several hard knees land on the body. M looks for a way out, tries circling away from the cage with G coming in strong. Pounds on M, who's just standing and trying to cover up. M sinks to his feet and G just keeps punching him in the head until ref stops the fight. TKO
