people underestimate the effect of wlad's size/power in the clinch. he knows how to lean on opponents and break them down. lennox was really great at this and wlad is getting better and better. povetkin hasn't had to deal with that yet. The strength difference imo will be vast. Lewis would also grab the neck and put his opponent in a headlock. He knocked out many by blinding his opponent with the left, laying it on their face, and coming down with the right. perhaps borderline illegal but very shrewd all the same. wlad is picking these things up more and more. doesn't make him more exciting but far more difficult to beat.

i would not be surprised if povetkin is the one breaking down mid-rounds from the clinches and punches.

    I give povetkin about a 10% chance.

Exactly. It is a point Foreman would always preach. People truly don't understand the effect of a 6'6 245 pound fighter laying on you over 12 rounds. It takes an immediate impact and drains you.

Lennox mastered this by the time he was done and Wlad is starting to figure it out.

This fight bothers me for one reason above all else. Both Povetkin and his corner will not quit. This could get really ugly really quick and end in a really bad way. If what I think will happen in this fight does, Wladimir may not have a stomach for boxing after this simply because Povetkin is going to get seriously and permanently hurt in this fight. I see lots of blood and too many guts on the part of Povetkin. Don't be surprised to see Wlad asking the ref to stop the fight because Povetkin is a mess. If he's seriously hurt, this could cause Wlad to doubt the sport and maybe even retire.
