Come on man Teddy calls it like he sees it if he sees a bad decision he'll say it. Haymon and PBC have nothing to do with it. Teddy is going to be Teddy no matter where he is.

Teddy calls it like he sees it usually, but he does have obvious biases against certain fighters, like say Wladimir Klitschko, and I have noticed a slant towards hyping fighters who work for his current boss lately. Sure GGG's opponents could be better, but find one that wants to face him that isn't a far bigger Gold Medalist at 175.

What a hypocrite. Teddy Atlas hates mismatches ... as he trains his new fighter to take on Brandon Rios in a mismatch.

As a trainer, Teddy Atlas was a straight-up frontrunner. You can count ON ONE HAND all the guys he trained who were underdogs entering a fight.

As a trainer, he only works with guys who are more or less guaranteed to win the fight Atlas is working ... and, even then, Teddy seems to get in the way and screws things up.

He wanted Freddie Roach's career as a trainer. But Teddy is a terrible trainer. He ends up messing with the fighters' heads ... with all his amateur psychology ... and they end up overthinking everything and freezing up.

i dont have a huge problem with his competition for the most part...from a standpoint of "hey the mw division just isnt that good"...it just isnt....the only guy id really want to see him with is canelo....the mw champ, cotto, isnt a mw...the rest of the division is lackluster to me and ggg is head and shoulders above it....

my issue is that he sold his fans a bill of goods...this "anyone from 154-168" ****...and when push came to shove they had to backtrack and change their tune "welll ummm what he meant was any big money fight...ya know like that bum chavez or near retirement 38 year old".....he talked a big one and then an a level, elite, fighter wanted to fight him and the excuses flew...a bunch of them.....ggg is just like any other fighter...he isnt cut from a different mold.....at least his management isnt.....

he had a chance to make a big fight...to make a statement and they backtracked.....if he was serious about a fight you dont come with 164 catch off the bat....that was a surefire way of making sure ward said no and making it look like you tried....next time ggg's people should choose their words better.....he ducked ward flat out

Teddy just spoke his mind and there's nothing wrong with that. He never said GGG couldn't fight, all he said is that he would like to see him in a fight. As would a lot of people. GGG feels real safe at middleweight. He is a business man and he has surveyed his competition and feels that it makes good business sense to stay right where he is and use that " I wanna clean up the middle weight division" explanation for not really pursuing greatness. He knows that will probably take the rest of his career and he will be raking in the cash and glowing in the adulation of all the people that don't know shiit about boxing calling him great. He's in the cat/bird seat and playing it for all it's worth. Mexican style, Big drama show!! and you gents are eating it up.

Interesting. I am pretty sure I have boxed longer and know boxing better than you, and I think he is the real deal. So does my boxing coach, and many pro boxers that aren't pursuing an agenda.

vast majority of people hating on GGG seem to have very little experience, understanding or even exposure to boxing.

I will be completely honest. When I see a "boxing expert" than never boxed, argue obsessively about someone's abilities, I cringe. You wouldn't even be able to SEE what makes GGG great, because you haven't practiced yourself. Its like people that never played soccer outside of passing the ball around on the beach discussing how **** CR7 is and how great Messi is.

Not to say Mesi isn't amazing but he is a very simple player that is an absolute god at the few things that he does do.

i guess you missed the part where manfred said "he never said he couldnt fight"......thats great that your coach thinks ggg is the "real deal"....atlas just said he wants to see him in a fight against an elite, a level, opponent....ya know...like ward....dont think anyone ever said ggg couldnt fight and cant box.....

like manfred said....his people have looked at the landscape of things and seem content on playing him up....hes got fans and hes beating b level fighters....and most of his "fans" dont have a problem with it...they just make up excuses for not taking on a level, elite, fighters like ward

Mayweather has got at least six bonafide hall of famers on his resume and at least three ATG's. He is a five division world champion, won twelve world titles and the lineal championship in four different weight classes and he retired undefeated. You can figure out my answer from that but just in case you can't, Two words, HELL NAW!!!!
