It was obvious what the ref was about in 2nd round when Joshua's nose went. Stopped it for ten seconds to make sure his boy was alright. If Takam sensed Joshua was hurt he'd have went for it and the ref couldn't have that.
I was tempted to go to my local tonight and watch it, instead got lazy and paid the £20, wish I hadn’t now! The whyte fight was ****! Joshua fight stopped to early! Where was the allan fight? Refund please! After all the pull outs I thought well at least the whyte fight and Joshua fights will be entertaining, I was wrong Howard foster jr can suck a 10inch cark!
It was a bad stoppage. No conspiracy though. Joshua was going to win the fight but the ref made a terrible call.
Lads, sky are disgraceful. AJ was evidently poor throughout, and not one pundit could bring themselves to remotely mention it. Unbelievable stuff. Then they painted Takam as some invincible warrior. Takam was game, fought well, but Fury or Wladimir would embarrass him. I've suspected all along that AJ isn't anything near what he's painted to be, and I think tonight proved that. AJ has excellent power and combinations on an open target, but he's not that good of a boxer at all. 40 year old Wlad was well ahead on an unbiased scorecard. Sky's script is beyond shameful. Pissed off with myself for watching/paying for that bias crap, but as a boxing fan, I'm a glutten. I'm saying here and now that AJ will be either outclassed, or sparked out before 2019.
BS. When Takam got cut the ref stopped the action when Takam said he was cut. That was ridiculous and the ref should never stopped the action because a fighter says his cut.
That was probably the worst ppv event ever every fight was shocking and the 2 I was interested in couldn't be viewed. I think a boycott should take place because its becoming a joke now. With regards to A.j I just don't think he is that great , technicely quite poor , poor engine and was 100% gifted a matchroom stoppage tonight to save his 100% ko record. Wilder would knock him out and I truly believe if it ever happens not that it looks likely fury would make AJ look behond incompetent. Good on joshua he is doing everything asked of him and yes he can punch without doubt, he just can't box!!!! A technically good boxer the same size as him beats him, problem is the division is pretty poor so we will have to keep putting up with the hype and the utter bollocks froch Adam Smith and bellew speak.
Fights get stopped all the time when a fighter is cut for the ref/doctor to look. Never in me life seen one get stopped for an it cos someone's nose is hurt. So no, not BS. Watch it back as well he took no notice to when Takam said he was cut for a long while and Joshua came in trying to take him out.
It's shocking I never rated aj much to start with and every fight proves it and every step up you start to see more holes if this was a UK fighter on the other side of this there would be hell on but because it's aj there is no problem
The stoppage was early and poor and although Joshua had already won’t the fight and was on for a shut out in the cards I couldn’t help but feel that the stoppage happened to appease the 100% record... Think the rematch will happen in March with the “Takam and AJ had a full camp” tag line... he’d knock our Wilder with ease, Wilder isn’t as bad as this forum makes out, but he can’t take Joshua’s power. Fury would absolutely school Joshua, it’d be embarrassing off the back of tonight, what a waste of talent that man is
Just watched the stoppage again it's quite embarrassing , think back to the heavyweight wars we use to see and now because the matchroom golden boy is looking poor and needs his 100% ko Record intact for future ppv sales it's stopped!never will I pay for a ppv A.J card again!! Takam was not going to win most probably but it's his 1 big shot at the big time he was not badly hurt give thean a chance, you don't deserve to work that hard and not be giving a chance, that made froch vs groves 1 look a clinical finish!
Yes, a waste. A fit Fury does Joshua 12-0 or by late stoppage. Shame. Without any real people in the division Joshua will dominate. As long as he doesn't get spoon fed like tonight then it's fair enough I suppose.
Tonight is the start of the British publics turn against AJ. I've always said you can only con the public with fixed PPVs for a limited time before the gravy chain runs out. The ref was paid to stop the fight, I don't care what anybody says. Molina/Martin and now tonight - absolute joke events.
