I knew when he "retired" after being smashed to bits by Leif Larsen last time out that he wouldn't be able to keep away :verysad 12 rounds (!) with Zoltan Petranyi on June 10 in Budapest for the UBO European title on Petranyi's 46th birthday :huh This fight was meant to happen last year but Williams pulled out, these two have fought before with Williams beating Petranyi via TKO3 in 2005. Petranyi is 47-20 and is the current holder of the UBO joke belt, but all his wins have come against rubbish and if Danny has anything left at all he should win this, I fear he doesn't however. Danny is also claiming this will be his very last fight, but he's said this a million times before. Very sad.
I really hoped he was going to stay retired but had a feeling he wouldn't , its sad I don't want to see the bloke get hurt. :-(
I've heard he is in a comfortable financial position, the guy sadly just loves boxing too much to the extent that he is prepared to seriously risk his health. I don't mind him fighting fellow oldies like Petranyi but what is worrying is when prospects bring him in as a "name" for their records, like Charr and Larsen did last year, and like Ustinov tried to (Danny in with a top 30 heavyweight :-() then you do have to question why none of Danny's friends/associates in boxing have had a word with him yet.
Also what a tosser Petranyi is, "celebrating" his birthday by attempting "revenge" on a man who is a shadow of what he was in his prime.
That's even more scary as Potter is still in his 30s and in excellent physical shape. The same organisation want to put oldies Chris P Bacon and Francois Botha in the ring together and are also trying to drag Michael Gomez out of retirement. These people have no shame
