That Bell Center ***** likely had a larger boxing skill set at 15 than Froch will ever have in his entire life.

C'mon dudes, give Brinkley his credits. Those embarassing losses were four years ago, the man has improved since that and and got solid wins by dominating performances.
There is no one avaliable out there who deserves more a title shot than him in the SMW division. MAYBE Sakio Bika, who was already beaten by Bute.

Did you see Reid v Brinkley?
Or are you just looking at records.

    That was a questionable decision.

Proof sanctioning bodies suck. The number one contender in the IBF is...no one...it actually there is no one rated number one...I was shocked to see that Abraham is listed number 3! Arthur Abraham is a lower ranked contender for the IBF title than Jesse Brinkley...those sanctioning bodies....:patsch

True, but a faded Reid still seemed just a shade better than Brinkley in that whole Contender US vs. UK show....nice to Barry McGuigan on US TV again incidently.

    Good point.

But, fighters do have bad nights.
I think Brinkley is a good fighter. Great? No.

But the guy does have heart and a will to fight.
I like the guy because you just can't bully him around.
And he usually does what he can do to make it a good fight.

Still, Brinkley deserves a shot (shouldn't he be ranked number 1, since when do they have eliminators to be the number two contender?). He'll keep Bute's four round KO streak alive, but it will entertaining and Brinkley will get a fat payday for giving it the hard attempt he always gives. No give and claim you did great crap a la Kevin Johnson from Jesse.

Brinkley looked like crap in that fight. Slow as mud and afraid to let his hands go as I recall. Brinkley from last night would spark Brinkley from the Reid fight.

To think that Stevens was the favorite to win the fight in the 1st place. What has he done to get a title shot? These belts lose credibility every time something like this happens.

I agree - he'd get sparked like that guy in your avatar did on many an occasion.

Bottom line is this, Brinkley is another chump to be fed to the paper champ.

'Bout time he fought somebody at last isn't it?

Joppy aside - and the weak as **** Berrio... what former titlists has he toppled?

He is the Romanian Calzaghe, fighting fodder in his backyard who are pretty much A) not deserving to be there or B) faded / shot / at the end of their careers.

Names that are not 'great' but simply 'barely acceptable'.

Andrade is the only reasonable fighter he's been in with and he scorched him the first time. In my book they are one apiece.

From what I hear Miranda is asking for what seems to be a fair amount and it is what HBO is willing to pay. He is willing and able. If Bute picks Brinkley instead I may have to start agreeing with that Romanian Calzaghe statement.

    Brinkly has beat NOBODY.
His best win is now a decision over a guy named Curtis Stevens who was previously KO'd by a man named Marcos Primera with a stunning record of 19-15-2

Brinkley has been KOd by Joe Spina and some dude with a record of 1-4 He has lost decisions to Sergio Mora, Alfonso Gomez and Robin Reid.

So big ****ing deal he is on a winning streak... Beat somebody and get some respect before you get thrown into the ring with a guy that should KO you in 1 round. Or at least toy with you until he decides to.

Ahh, Brinkley deserves a shot. I'm not all against these type of fights when something better isn't available. I'm not convinced Miranda is any better as an opponent than Brinkley at this point.

Brinkly deserves the paycheck after a long career.

Probably too early for Brinkley to be fighting again anyhow.
