Rumor has it that Cotto still hasnt signed to fight Margo, and that his team (NOT ARUM) are having second thoughts about the fight all together.

Now I will say that this isnt one of the better places to get infor, but I do find it abit odd that Cotto hasnt signed yet. It was being said that he was waiting the outcome of Oscar Forbes as if there was any doubt.

I dont know guys...Is the fight in trouble???:|

I don't know, but after Margarito's last year scandal (loss vs. Williams), Arum will force this fight as hard as he can.

I believe it's the argument of PPV. Arum just doesn't like to give the fighters their share, and Team Cotto can't accept that (since Oscar, Floyd, Hatton and I believe PacMan is getting a percentage). Also, the double-header's ratings were low, so as both Cotto and Margarito wants big money for the fight and Cotto a share from the PPV which will generate about 150.000 at most, Arum just doesn't want to walk away empty handed. It's a big event, but not a big money event, and both Team Cotto and Top Rank want to make big money - but there isn't big money for two.

Theres a reason why Mosley and Mayweather didnt want to risk against Margarito in the past, its just too big of a risk and very little reward.

I just hope that for the sake of boxing Cotto will still fight Margo and send a message to all future upcoming starts of the sport, too bad avarage Joe on the street is more impressed with that "o" instead of fighters willingless to fight the best.

Funny how things can come full circle.

If Cotto does not fight Margarito a lot of people will have to eat their words regarding Mayweather's decision to forego a bout with Margarito in order to fight Baldomir. Especially considering the fact that there is no linear champion out there that Cotto could face instead of Margarito. And the only other excuse would be for financial reasons, which, when Mayweather cited, he was also ripped for by many of his detractors.

Risk vs. Reward will most likely be coming from a lot of mouths that so vehemently disapproved of this business practice in the past.

Well I for one hope they don't pull out. This would be a great fight to watch where I see Cotto winning but by a decision, Close to.

Either way this is all leading up to a Mayweather vs Cotto fight for 2009 we all hope. Cotto and Mayweather stay undefeated i say they will fight in 2009. I rekon Mayweather camp is finding the right way to go about beating Cotto. They're being smart about this one, I would be too if I had to fight Miguel Cotto.

If Cotto doesn't fight Margarito, then obviously, the cherry picking has begun. I'd almost be willing to give Miguel a pass, seeing how he beat Mosely, who is a better fighter than anyone Mayweather ever beat. Floyd has now shamelessly avoided Mosely and Margarito, but still that doesn't excuse Cotto, if in fact he does blow off the Margarito fight.

 You kill me with your rumors. According to you and your "sources," a few weeks ago the rumor was "Cotto vs. Mayorga."

Dan Rafael said in his most recent chat that there were no problems what so ever and that the deal was as good as done. I'd take his word over someone with imaginary sources and ridiculous rumors, anyday.

Seems to me, you Floyd groupies are praying Cotto doesn't take the fight, so he can receive the same backlash Floyd did for avoiding a fight with Margarito in 2006.

Where was this criticism when Cotto didn't sign immediately for the Mosley fight or the Quintana fight where Arum tried to pay him the same amount of cash he made against Malignaggi?

This fight will come off. Cotto always signs fights late. They are just negotiating.
