:-( ****! If you don't know why this is bad news, Arnaoutis got badly robbed in a recent loss to Tim Coleman that flew under the radar but was a late entry for one of the worst decisions of 2009; and Demetrius Hopkins famously got a gift over Steve Forbes, with all three scorecards conspiring to illustrate a shutout, when he clearly won fewer than half the rounds. Even without any outright corruption, if it's remotely close who do you think the judges are going to give the benefit of the doubt to - the prospect with the famous pedigree, or the foreigner with five losses and on a bad run? War Mighty Mike! Knock the sucka out, and maybe you'll get a draw.
This is an ok fight but I think Hopkins wins with or without bad judging. A little too much speed I think for Aranoutis. It should be competitive and not a bad fight at all for ESPN.
Demetrius Hopkins...well, yeah, THAT'S the Hopkins that comes to mind when you mention only his last name. I mean, everyone time I type "Pacquiao" people assume I'm talking about Manny and not Bobby...what gives?
Hmm, which one might be fighting a light welterweight...that really requires a lot of brainpower.
Can Mike actually knock Demetrius out, even with a perfect shot? He's not featherfisted and has good enough punching technique but he isn't a brute and only has one knockout in the last four years (and it was someone with a bad/ruined chin); and D-Hop can get lazy and be outboxed but hasn't shown any alarmingly bad reaction to getting hit. This grows more worrisome by the second. Arnaoutis is seriously not winning a decision no matter the makeup of the contest. All "The Gladiator" has to do is stay on his feet to be awarded the win, and that shouldn't be too hard. :think
