Based on the fighter's words themselves, the fight plan is set. Sergio says that his chin will not be on the test cause Chavez can't hit what he can't see so that means obviously that Martinez will be on the move, on the balls of his feet and looking to get in and out scoring big with str8 lefts or hard left or right hooks... Chavez wants to expose his chin to test Martinez' so he's gonna try to smother him against the ropes and in the corners to hit his body and set up punches upstairs. I see Maravilla winning a wide UD in this one folks. And Chavez badly messed up all the same.

Martinez is certainly better skilled and more elusive.

I get the feeling however that Martinez has in his head that its going to be easy pickings against Jr.
He'd made a big mistake here imo.
Martinez does alot of that hands down you cant hit me type of movements around the ring, only this time he has a natural body puncher going at him.
When Martinez tastes what Jr has to the body, Martinez is going to be busy trying to avoid that. Thats going to open up the upstairs for Jr.

The blueprint to beat Martinez is exactly the blueprint Chavez Sr. implemented for most of his fights, and one in which Jr. grew up watching.
Be patient early, hit the body and the head will fall.

This is what Jr. has learned from his father and its exactly whats needed here against Martinez.

Btw, I loved how Jr. defended himself when Martinez try to get into his head about "when are you going to rid yourself of being a prisoner and hiding behind his fathers fame and riding his coat tails so to speak."

martinez came across corny as ****....same recycled **** that's been said to, and about chavez since day 1....love the way jr pretty much handled sergio like if he did it on a daily basis..

 

Martinez is right JCC Jr isn't going to be able to land **** on him. This is Calzaghe-Lacy all over again JCC Jr is getting schooled and embarrassed. He is in way over his head he has been too coddled and never fought a fighter like Martinez. Fact.
