I don't think 154 is possible now for Jr. He's ****ing big dude. And Canelo is a solid Jr MW. So meeting somewhere in the middle is fair.

 

If you are sick of catchweight fights, then what's the point of bitching about it? Either you are for them or against. Who uses them and who asks for them should not have baring on your opinion of a catchweight fight.

The problem is Pac's 7th weight class TITLE FIGHT was at a catch weight and Pac's 8th weight class TITLE FIGHT was at a catch weight.

Cotto didn't seek out a fight with Pac, it was Arum putting in his 2 stable-mates in the ring together to capitalize on both sides and maintain the rights to the winner. Cotto just fought who is promoter put in front of him as usual.
Cotto didn't have a Freddie Roach in his corner to stand up for him and make sure he did what was best for him.

Margarito wasn't even a ranked JMW or JMW belt holder. Who was also coming off a yr long suspension after getting destroyed by Mosley only to fight some average fighter and got a shot at Pac for a MW title? That's a disgrace to the MW that fight at that weight class.

The playing field obviously was level since Pac maintained speed and power while Cotto and Margarito who already were losing out on speed had to lose some power as well.
