Thanks. Yes, I remember those fights, where the more skillful fighters won against supposedly bigger, tougher opponents. I picked Ramirez correctly too, despite him being the underdog. Honestly, you may have convinced me to pick Taylor!! I am going to think about it more and maybe see how they look at the weigh-in. It will be a great fight though, both are legitimately good fighters.
I'd question whether Davies is going to be the physically stronger of the two. The size advantage to Taylor was evident at the face off. I see Taylor being the more aggressive of the two as he is the superior fighter at close range. He definately gets his shots off quicker than Davies up close. Davies is more patient. Only really gets aggressive when he has the other guy hurt.
That's what is so exciting about this fight, there are so many questions to be answered. The only thing we know is that both are quality fighters.
It is a fight and anything can happen. If I had to bet I'll ride with Taylor. O'Hara is wild. Guy drops his opposite hand when throwing almost every time he punches. It's likely that Taylor beats this guy up and maybe stops him. O'Hara could land a bomb. The only thing I don't like about Taylor is he doesn't have a hard jab that can really keep someone out. He uses a pawing double to close the distance. I can see Davies countering over the top. I like Taylor though. Especially if he sticks to the body early. The guy is far more polished then Davies. Should be exciting!!!
I'm interested in this one. Kind of surprised they took the fight so early in their careers. Both have fought bums so it's hard to predict. From the fights I've seen Taylor's power isn't that good, and O'hara seems a bit flat footed.
O'Hara seems to be more patient. He gets under punches well. Has a strong jab. If he can keep Taylor outside I think he might be able to bust him up. We will find out how durable he is. O'Hara looks physical with arms to the floor. If I'm taylor I box and move and use my tech footwork and speed. Touch that body early and often. I have a feeling Taylor might be to offensive minded and run into a right hand. It's like you said, neither guy really fought anybody so it's hard to say.
Having researched this match quite a bit more, and watched more tape of both fighters, I am now fairly confident that Taylor will win. Thanks for your excellent posts in this thread.
I believe this fight will be won mentality, Both fighters have the physical attributes to beat the other. My prediction is Taylor will be too anxious and too eager, Ohara will remain patient and then explode on him, Ohara by KO. Great fight tho, seriously looking forward to this much more than a lot of recent title fights i have seen.
