    The question is who? in your opinion, WAS THE BEST SLUGGER, SWARMER,COUNTERPUNCHER,PURE PUNCHER,ORTHODOX BOXER,regardless of weight?

    SWARMER: Ricky Hatton (watch Tszyu fight)
    COUNTERPUNCHER: Pernell Whitaker
    PURE PUNCHER: Felix Trinidad (I'm not his biggest fan, but a terrific puncher)
    ORTHODOX BOXER: Sugar Ray Leonard

    As far as swarmers go, it doesn't elevate any higher than Henry Armstrong-- he achieved a level of head-to-chest ability seldom touched upon again. However, if I may make the distinction, I think we should make a separate case for the pressure fighters of the sport. I, myself, would submit Joe Frazier as the proverbial top dog for this category. Frazier was a beast, and the definitive pressure fighter par excellence.
