You're seriously saying Geale, an ex-unified champ who was ranked 3rd or 4th in the division at the time of the fight, is the same as Lightning Rod who was barely in the rankings at all? To quote GGG, "Hey, man. Are you serious?"

Geale was a former two time middleweight champion, Salka was not ranked at all and was a lightweight. Salka was so bad that the boxing org. did not allow the fight to be a title fight..........................

Geale is a great example as of why the alphabet soup champions hurt boxing....the only argument I hear is that he is a two time champion...so what, he is at best an average boxer...and it shows how weak the MW Division really is...
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY HOW FANS USE THE ALPHABET CHAMPION BULL WHEN IT HELPS MAKING THEIR WEAK POINT....In any other period of the MW GAELE WOULD HAVE BEEN A SECOND TIER BOXER, and he still is a second tier regardless of how many so call belts he had at any time in his career

    Well go ahead then.

There's half the argument. Taking Geale down is only half of what needs to be done.

Legitimize Rod Salka as an opponent and you're home free.

You can see it however you choose... The fact is simple, Geale was simply. Hyped alphabet title holder and nothing less...and the fact his ranking was or even is as high clearly show the MW division is a extremely weak division....

Again at 32 GGG needs to start making strides toward top tier competition, and Geale is not the quality of opponent that will help him achieve that plateau!

And if you can't see that, then you are simply a following GGG like a 12 year old girl follows her teen idol!!:hi:

I am not legitimizing him as an opponent, all I am saying is that Geale was hyped because his alphabet status and in all reality was NOT. A legitimate opponent either....AND THAT IS THE POINT OF MY POST ALL,ALONG!

Props for finally admitting how good GGG is. :good

A top 5 middleweight who's been competitive every time out against world-class competition and has done it across the globe was made to look like Rod Salka.

That pretty much sums it up. I knew you were a fan all along. Next time, just hop on the bandwagon. No need to be so coy about it. :!::thumbsup

Well I am still saying GGG needs to figure out a way to legitimize himself fighting top tier opponents...now is that mean fighting Cotto at 154, if he is as good as you all think he is, then be it... Let it roll!'

Honestly, I am not sold on GGG as of yet, he is skillful, but in all honesty he is untested as far as I am concern...that he has great skills, -absolutely, that he could be a great fighter , no doubt...is he setting himself toward that goal...IMO, not by fighting the Geale's of the world!
