WTF does well rounded have to do with anything? Is Brock well rounded? What about Carwin? The point here is a simple one. Werdum never should have been dropped by the UFC.

Gonzaga and Vera are still in the UFC. Vera has since dropped to 205 since he's record at heavy became so mediocre. But Werdum one of the top 15 heavys in the world gets dumped and wasnt even notified that he's been released? Im sure Dana wants a fighter he has coveted so much loosing to a guy he dropped from his promotion. Yeah thats a promotions dream right there. Then again he can always sign Kimbo to put some more bums on seats aye.

I said on the previous page that I believe Werdum was cut prematurely from the UFC. No argument there, did you think I was saying that? If so, you're hallucinating.

And being well rounded has everything to do with it. Your point was that Werdum is an amazing grappler so Dana should really want him back. (Yes, that's your point...I can see your posts.) Well, not every amazing grappler is the best MMA fighter. Just like every amazing boxer/thai fighter/wrestler is going to be one of the best MMA fighters. I used Magalhas to illustrate this point. Clearly one of the best grapplers I've ever seen, but that doesn't always translate to being a top tier MMA fighter. So many more skill sets to learn and to tie them all together is even more difficult.

And about Kimbo? Dana was true to his word. The only way that Kimbo is ever going to get into the UFC is through TUF. And what did Kimbo do? He went on TUF. Did he perform well? No. But he was given a chanc ein the finale, and he won. It wasn't pretty...at all, but he won. He was given another opportunity because of that win and he looked awful. And he was then cut. If Dana was primarily concerned (note I said primarily meanly only) with selling tickets then he would have kept him. But, at the end of the day, the UFC is where the best fighters are (Or at least 95% of them).

He will play it off as if he cut Werdum due to poor performance. When in reality he was cut because Werdum would've had a great chance to beat all their top prospects. He didnt have a name. But Big Nog, Crocop did and Dana knew they were old and shot to ****. So they were sent to fight their prospects. Why else do you think they are signing all these mediocre fighters. Gatekeepers have a place in the UFC like Rothwell, Nelson, Kongo. Good fighters with no name recognition dont ie. Werdum.

 

You're crazy. They released Werdum. And believe it or not Werdum was a .500 fighter in the UFC.

The bottom line is your casual fan just believes Werdum got released because he couldnt hack it. Him beating Fedor makes the UFC look unbelievably good because a UFC "castoff" beat the undefeated GOAT HW in one minute.

If you cant see that, then you should perhaps get your head examined.

 

Why on earth would White fear Werdum beating his best fighters? If that were the case, he wouldn't want Werdum going elsewhere and succeeding. White is mortified at the idea that not all the best fighters are in the UFC. I have to believe that he just underestimated Werdum. In hindsight it was a bad decision to let him go. And after one loss no less. But I don't think it's for the reasons you have described.

BJJ is not MMA. Nobody cares if Werdum is one of the best grapplers in the world. In MMA, he was ranked near the bottom of the top 10 at HW well at least prior to this fight and has lost to a few fighters currently employed in the UFC.

Are wrestlers doing well? Yes. But it's because they're augmenting their wrestling ability with grappling. If they didn't, then they would lose. Of that I'm positive. Guarantee it.

 

Again people need to understand laying in someones guard is not a wrestling technique, its BJJ.
