who is saying kova lost because of 3 low blows? he was hit low, numerous occasions, but was also taking legit body shots. the last low blow was undoubtedly a factor in the stoppage of the fight, kova was looking for help from the ref as he folded from the low blow, and weeks thought he had folded from a legit body punch and stopped it. weeks was aware that kova was hurt from a head shot already and probably thought he was done when he folded.
ward would have probably gone on to win, because the damage was done, but we will never know because it was prematurely stopped.

Nice post, but you are applying logic to what is clearly a very emotional subject to the people that you are addressing. You should save your fingers.

No worries. I did catch that one though. It was a low blow as i explained in my op. Atleast you admit your mistake instead of making up some delusional bs like another poster whose name i wont mention:facepalm:

A lot of his whiney supporters keep going on and on about the low blows at the end. Or they say "ward kept hitting kov low the whole fight which i just proved is complete bs so it must be the 3 low blows at the end which only one appeared to be clearly low btw.
Of the last 3 shots only one was clearly a low blow. Numerous occasions? What fight were you watching? There was a low blow in the 2nd round which was just below the belt line and more on his hip but ill give you that one. Kov did go on to win the round and the next. Then there were absolutely NO LOW BLOWS until Ward caught him borderline and he pulled the punch and Kov completely overreacted. Now maybe it was because he was already feeling the effects of all the body work or he was looking for a breather. Either way i dont blame him for the acting job because it was the smart thing to do. Then in the 8th the two body shots that hurt him bad were legal and on the belt which Weeks said was legal for both fighters before the fight started. I give you the last punch of the fight was low but previous two, one was problably low but unclear and the second to last glanced off his side and pretty much missed. Check the replay.

My argument if Kovalev was out on his feet and almost out of there. the onslot until he was on the ropes was clean. at least one of those final 3 shots was low and it was ALL the way low to the pee-pee the other one looked Low because of the way kovalevs belt was but it might have been low too. the first shot was clean

the last 2 shots were likely low blows. but Kovalev was so hurt. they should have gave Kovalev 5 minutes and then he'd probably be knocked out sooner than later.

They should have disqualified Ward ....

    or

Kovalev should have socked him back in the nads.

people just dont like seeing their hero brought down thats all. There was however dirty finish, lots of people apply dirty finishing...however kov was already out. ward has proved an expert at handling elite aggression.

There are videos that analyse this issue, providing evidence with slow motion. One can't really argue that there weren't multiple low blows. People treat boxing like a religion.
