I'll be honest I've never seen Loma/Usyk/Canelo/GGG have to resort to these tactics to get a victory.

There's no rule that says landing a low blow results in a disqualification. Many blows have gone south unintentionally , which is why the 5 min recovery time is in place.

The sport would die if fights were stopped and ruled DQs everytime somebody hit the other guys trunks. That seems to be what you are advocating for.

 

A foul that results in the fouled fighter being unable to continue results in a disqualification for the fouling boxer. If Tony Weeks thought that Kovalev couldn't continue then that qualifies as grounds for disqualifying Andre Ward. This wasn't just one low blow. There were several and it was egregious. At the very least, Kovalev deserved five minutes to recover and Ward should have been deducted a point.

Kovalev wasn't hunched over half sitting on the ropes because of a foul , it was from a legal attack.
Protect yourself at all times. Kovalev couldn't which is why Weeks ended the fight.

Except he wasn't in that fetal position from being punched in the balls. He curled up from being winded and hurt from a legal body shot and from a punch to the head.

You can't curl up or hunch over to stop the other guys attack.
The last blow wouldn't have went low if Kovalev was upright and fighting back. Any punch going into somebody in that position is naturally going to be funneled into their crotch cavity.

Ward already left Kovalev off the hook once after he folded over from legal body shots , he wasn't willing to do it again. Kovalev showing signs of quit and bending over looking for breaks is what led Weeks to end the fight , not because one blow traveled accidentally south.
