Many of you have creatd so many matches for Kelly Pavlik that my head is spinning ...but let's be serious for a moment and analysed what happend and let's think the most logical direction for Pavlik to retain his title and make some money. Ok, on a very entertaining fight, Kelly Pavlik was floored by Jermain Taylor, who's KO power disparead after he started to face elite fighters...but it appeared again on the 2nd rounds and yet he couold finish Pavlikm 5 rounds later, accumulation of punches, wasted energy on barn buster swings and a chin hanging in the air as he drop his arms was the demised of Jermain... So now , Pavlik is MW Champ...I strongly recomend for Pavlik to get a couple of fights with some of the rank fighters, solidify his title hold and either try to unified against Abahams or rematch Taylor (which will be far easier fight than the first one)...say he potentially have a fight against WW last hurrah say late 2008 early 2009, bank some great PPV cash...at this point in 2009 WW will be a easier customer but no means a push over...if he wins this fight..then he can move to 168 searching for more glory and and that time, the winner of the Joe C. v Kessler fight willb e waiting on the wings for easyly hit Pavlik...at this point ...he should realized he will need to go back to 160 and stay at 160....
1- Rematch Taylor, if its in the ****ing contract then be a man and stick to your word 2- Beat Abraham, the only contender in the division then move up permanently, cause there isnt much money at middleweight
stay where the money is it. Pavlik v. Taylor is a MONEY MAKER. I say, fight Taylor at all costs, and make it in MSG. Unless Taylor flat out refuses right now, that is the way to go. If Taylor wants a tune up or two before hand, I say take one yourself, maybe in front of the hometown fans against a top 20 guy and hold it in OH. Rematches/trilogies are where the money is at in the lower weight divisions.
Agreed and that's what I poster origianlly but again WW is his big ticket for PPV money...remember that
1. Rematch Taylor adjuxst to 168 then fight WINNER of Calzaghe vs Kessler. Win those two fights?? He'd be at the UPPER END O THE GAME:good Sewing up 160, 168??? Pricless. Abaraham?? Hold on a second and FORGET GERMANY, no more BAD Decision gambles:nono The best vs the best, betters the sport, and everyone WINS:yep The greats of every ERA have fought each other and Pavliks in every position to take his shots, get his MONEY, and EARN his respect. Step 1 Accomplished:hey Rumors of Duddy first, we havent heard OFFERS or ANNOUNCED INTENTIONS on executing the cluase other than the post fight interview. If Taylor wants it next?? SAY IT NOW, SAY IT LOUD!!!! He's absolutely deserving. Both men made a great fight and there is perhaps even better things to be gained for Pavlik. It sets up the stage flor REAL SUPERSTARDOM:hat
I don't think a rematch with Taylor is a good idea, for Taylor that is. If Taylor looss again I think it will be the end of Taylor, so he needs to start a little bit slow and see how he copes with the loss and the KO. Pavlik does not get any reward apart from money if he KO's Taylor again. I think take a money fight, then go for Abraham. Get Abraham to Vegas after that go for Kessler. Nomatter how biased German judges are, Anbraham doesn't pose the threat that Kessler does. I dont mention Calzaghe because I dont think it is realistic that Calzaghe will go for Pavlik even he beats Kessler. Calzaghe has max 4 fights in him and he will go to LHW afterwards.
I really don't care much for a Taylor-Pavlik rematch right now. Maybe at 168 if Pavlik can clean out 160 and Taylor can get some wins at 168.
First thing first, a rematch with Taylor, then he can start his onslaught of the division, there is no one that can beat Pavlik right now, so it really doesnt matter who he faces, but the deserving list has Taylor first followed by Wright and Abraham.
No it's not. It's realistic. First due to the fight clauses in the Pavlik-Taylor fight Pavlik can't fight anyone until Taylor decides on a rematch. Taylor may choose to go right away or allow each fighter a tune-up fight. Either way its not Pavlik's decision. Winky Wright is going to be cautious before facing Pavlik. He'll might even need a tune-up fight himself upon returning to 160 weight. Chances are Abraham won't leave Europe so Pavlik will need to go there. Pavlik's not going to want to do that as his first fight as a champion. He's going to want to milk his popularity and fight someone more local. So who do we have left? Duddy and Sergia Mora. Duddy is the more exciting fighter of the two, and a good match up for Pavlik.
Fight Duddy in New York and Mora in LA for big cash and the media attention those fights will get . Then fight Taylor in the rematch. Then go Germany to fight Abraham after that comeback to US and fight Winky. That takes care of 2008.:deal In 2009 take on powerful Giovanni Lorenzo then leave the middleweights and battle Calzaghe, Kessler and Bute.:deal
